Is that fancy striping job included in that price?

wow - usually they dont put on until after you buy it and they get it ready for delivery. Nice of them to be upfront and show you what it will actually look like when you get it ;)

Not only did damage the paint by buffing it (and remove some of the factory clear) but now even more of the paint will have to be removed to fix it. Factory paints have most of the UV protection in the top 10% of the clear, and I would be seriously leary that the paint might be subject to premature faliure.

The reality is that these photos were taken when the sun was highlighting the problem(s) the worst. If someone comes in to the dealer on an overcast day, the car might look fine. That's not to say that this isn't a hack job, but you have to admit it's being highlighted pretty well there.

What kills me about GM dealers is that they seem to think it's perfectly fine to place wheel weights on the FACE of wheels where they're most visible, and they usually do it with a hammer so removal ends up in a permanent mark on the wheel.

omg that's brutal! It's funny I used to do part time contract work at a dealer. I got a friend a job as there regular detailer. Well... they had some guy come in and "teach" him how to buff in about an hour. Needless to say there's MULTIPLE cars on that lot now with swirling either as bad as that or worse on the lot... none of which needed to be buffed in the first place and now they look... well... yeea... they're still on the lot.

That's bad, but at a local Honda dealership - there was a row of-4-5 new cars that had overspray all over them. I guess Bubba the "touch-up" artist paid them a visit.

Wife's tahoe looked good when we picked it up(below)... just gave it a detail today..i'll take some after pics tomorrow

that detailer = failing at detailing. that buff job is crazy bad.. i wonder if all the cars on the lot are the same way.

It's amazing how many cars just like that I see driving around town that have either been totally hacked by a dealer or a "cheap" detail job.

It amazes me the amount of people who either don't notice how bad it is, or they simply don't care.

From my experience, they usually know its there and either think its normal or dont car to have it fixed because they are cheap.

I work valet on the weekends every once in a while, I noticed some HORRIBLE swirling/buffer trails just like this Tahoe on a brand new caddilac. I waited until the guy came back outside from dinner, gave him my card and told him I could take car of it for him..he told me his son did it and he wasnt interested. I dont get people sometimes...
