I got to use my new Firebird steamer today on a very nasty GMC Arcadia with third row seating. These are challenging interiors anyway, and this one is owned by a family of 8, so you can imagine what it looked like. The lady was embarrassed by its horrid condition, and asked me not to take any before pics of it. Im a man of my word, so I didnt.
I was sold on the Firebird for not only the price, but the size and performance stats. 50psi, 1 hour running time, 6 foot hose, some decent accessories, and the 350° steam temp.
It takes around 10 minutes to heat up, but once it does, it doesnt seem to loose pressure. The Arcadia had a lot of tight or hard to reach areas, all full of sticky stuff and melted candy. It also had some crayons that had melted in the carpet. The Firebird ripped right through it all like it wasnt even there. The interior took me 6 hours, and I think without it I would have been looking at more like 9 or 10.
It does have a couple cons though. The extentions make me feel like Im going to break something. Its built well and all, but it hasnt earned my confidence yet when it comes to putting any kind of pressure on the tools. My second con, and the big one for me, is it didnt come with the triangle accessory that most detailers rely on the most. The carpet tool is nice, but its just too big to do much with inside a car. The size, price, and power is more than enough to make up for those small cons though.
All in all Im really impressed with the machine. Its the best investment Ive made in a long time. I would highly recommend it to mobile guys who are looking to save space but still want a professional grade steamer without breaking the bank.
