Importance of routine maintenance

I found myself in an odd situation this morning. I've known the hose for my steam washer has been in bad shape for months now. Its at least 5 years old and has some really worn places from being dragged across the floor and being ran over all the time. In fact there are belts showing in a couple spots. I've said for a long time I'm going to replace it but never have. The hose was laying in the floor in front of the machine and like normal I stepped over it with one leg to kick the washer on. With the flip of a switch, 3000 psi of water pressure passing through a hole the size of a pencil led got me square in the money makers. I found myself in the floor curled up in a ball, soaking wet and couldn't get up to shut the pump off. Needless to say my day has gotten off to a horrible start.

Procrastination gets the best of me too, I am currently organizing my detailing products/supplies space. Something that should have been done over the winter while I sat here at the computer. I hope the rest of your day went better.:yikes:

Ouch I can only imagine how that felt. You were at the wrong place at the wrong time. I've had 2 of those suckers pop fortunately I was not near them. When you replace your hose don't get a cheap one. I just picked one up for $100 at Home Depot. I don't think it is made for heated water because now I get scalded by hot water when the coupler leaks and the whole hose was once clear now its burnt brown color. Just a little FYI

It was definatly a one in a million shot. The new hose will be here tomorrow. My wife is going to stroke out when she finds out how much they are. She takes care of the books so I can't hide that kinda stuff anymore. She won't think its so funny anymore lmao.

...importance...

So that when you're doing the big details you know you're machines/tools aren't going to cop out on you and you're left scrambling with no service centers open because its after hours.

Once a year tune ups is mandatory I think.
