If you had only one sealant to buy, which one and why.....

Zaino is what I currently use and have used since 2003. If I switched, I would go with UPGP or OS. In the end, try a few and go with the one that meets all your needs - looks, durability, what have you.

UPGP.... or FK1 HighTemp 1000P. Tough decision between those two.

I have both Zaino z5, z2 and UPGP. I prefer the look of Zaino, but you really can't beat the application and durability of UPGP. So, I have been using zaino during the summer months and UPGP during winter.

Opti-Seal would be my first choice, Acrylic Jett Trigger would be 2nd. Both are ridiculously easy to use and last more than long enough for me.

Al , what FK to you top 105 with , PW or 1000P ?

My favorite sealant has been DG stuff , yeah , not the best for some, but looks great to me .

either one...PW or 1000..both look great on 105...PW has a bit more of the warm depth to it....1000 has a glossier look...but as said they both look very nice on 105....

try the Track Klaw if you have not tried it yet...first year playing with it...very very slick and different look then the rest...I like it alot...

Zaino System

Durability, shine the defies the amount of grime actually on the finish and longevity of the "just detailed" appearance wash-after-wash-after wash.

In all honesty I wasn't all that impressed by Zaino (ZAIO, one coat of Z2PRO, non ZFX). It just didn't bead all that well or stay slick for very long. It did look good for a while, though. I'll give it another shot when I get some free time to do some cars that I see often.

For a sealant, I like Meguiar's #21 alot even though my experience is limited. At 7 months on a Lexus RX, it still sheeted well and looked *great*, although the car isn't driven all that much.

Really though, when I need sealant durability I just go with one of the Collinites (476s, 845) and I get great results.

I still have some 1Z Glanz in my stash as well as OS. OS just doesn't do it for me on my Jet Black BMW however. Can't recall how Glanz looked as it's been ages since I've used it and still have 2 cans left of their Spruh Wax. Spruh Wax is not a durable wax, moreso a beauty wax in a spray can. Perfect after a wash for a quick wax for a hot Friday night date.

I did say this was a expensive hobby in one of my posts right ? Ordered both the Z system and UPGP:eek::eek::eek::eek:

I've read up on alot of recent threads on sealants.....and location & environment surely plays a role in every users experience. Weather in Socal doesn't = the weather we get out here in the Northeast.

Another vote for UPGP....

You know, I'd use UPGP more if it wasn't for the 1 hour cure to drive time. Sealing the paint is one of my final steps and I can't always count on customers not having to go anywhere as soon as I finish. I get more streaking than I do with OS or ZCS, but I think that has to do with the huge MF pad. Going to try it next time with a 4" Meguiar's foam hand pad (like I use with the others) and see if that helps.

Or FK1 1000p:

I have a hard time deciding between these two when sealing a car. You can't go wrong with either.

Lots of products I haven't tried, but about five years ago a detailing buddy recommended Four Star UPP. I use others on occasion (FMJ most notably) but UPP is my definite go-to.

Scott,

What happens if you drive before 1 hr? I tend to slap on a layer of UPGP once a month or so and will often drive the short distance to work before 1 hr. I've never noticed a problem, but I'm working on my own car and am probably not the perfectionist you are.

Anyways, it's UPGP for me!

dont flame me but i like KAIO and KSG

=)

KAIO and KSG are a great choice! I really like the results of the KAIO and KSG combo. I just got lazier and lazier and switched to Optimum OS (which is WOWA) and Optimum Car Wax (which is spray on and wipe off).
