I saw the results and IM A BELIEVER! Zaino - Pictures from GM Nationals

First off I would like to thank everyone for all the fantastic support and help I got from this site. I have always been interested in auto detailing, and its nice to finally do something right and actually see some decent results. Although I didn't win anything at GM Nationals I can honestly say out of 40+ Impalas I HAD THE CLEANEST CAR WITHOUT QUESTION; maybe not the nicest but definately the cleanest!

As for the Zaino where do I begin... Well, I started detailing last saturday and finshed friday morning. Good thing I had the whole week off. After 12 hours a day of detailing for 5 days I didn't even want to hear the word wax in any capacity. I blame myself partically for the length of time it took because I was new to using the stuff and it takes a little time to figure out what makes it work best. I blame Sal-Zaino partically because they are full of s*it. There is no way this process can be done RIGHT in one day. This is the most ridiculous system I have ever used in my life!!!

BUT THE RESULTS WERE AMAZING AS YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE! I used the stuff and now I am a Zaino believer. I have never gotten a shine like this, not after 30 coats of mothers or meguiars or even Zymol for that matter.

So my rating: If you have no life like myself and are obsessed with your car and want actual results this product is for you. If you are content with shiny but swirled to hell paint use the other guys stuff.

In any event, I had a really great time at GM Nationals, met alot of really nice people, joined LISST, and felt proud that I had one, if not the cleanest Imp's in the show.

Take a look!!:2thumbs:

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!!!!!!!:grinno: :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:

Looks stunning!! What was the prep work?

LOL @ doing the system in one day. Keep practicing. I have the ZAIO, Z5ro, and CS done to less than 1 hour. Haha.

Your car looks stunning :goodjob

What did you do before to obtain similar results in less time?

Now that Zaino is protecting your car you'll start noticing many of the 'ease of maintenance' characteristics -which IMO ranks right up there with the fantastic looks.

Sorry guys,

The process was:

Day 1

Zaino Clay Bar - I lubed it with water and Z7 Car wash in a spray bottle

Day 2

Zaino Clay Bar

Z7 Car Wash

Meguiars Medium-Cut Cleaner (green polishing pad - rotary)

Meguiars 83 (blue pad)

Day 3

Meguiars 83 again (blue polishing pad - rotary)

Wash with Z7 again

Day 4

ZPC 2X (green Polishing Pad)

Z6

Z5 Pro w/ZFX (2 coats)

Z6

Day 5

Z2 w/ZFX (1 coat)

Z8 Grand Finale

In between I worked a little on the engine compartment and interior using various meguiars products and stoner products:

Invisible glass on the windows,

Installed my new grill too:2thumbs:

Thats pretty much it....

Looks outstanding, as far as quickness goes, trust me youll get faster.

Im glad you found aproduct you like, the car looks amazing!

Great job man!! Yes I admit, the first time you use the Zaino system it seems to take forever and it seems that you're spending way too much time when you can be inside watching TV or catching up on things, but once you do some research and use less product it actually works. Prep and sealing it just takes forever.

Now that I know the system very well, I can do a car without stopping to think what's next.

Now that you're done with the hardest part trying to figure out the system, now you just do basic maint like Z-7 wash, Z-6/8 wipedowns, and clay if needed, then slap a coat of either Z-2/5p and if you don't have much time just apply Z-CS within a matter of mins. It's so easy!!!

A perfect case where hard work (prep), following instructions and patience resulted in a fantastic result.

As your procedure denoted, prep is everything and now all that time and effort will be rewarded with a durable shield and the SS will only require careful washing and Z8 sprucing until the next show.

Archive this post Way2SSlow. You will have a good laugh and send apologies to Sal when you too start Zainoing in less than an hour or two with the same results you received on your first visit to Zaino. :grinno:

I bought more tire gloss and ZCS at the show,.... I think Ill give it a try next week... and let everyone know how it works out.

Looks excellent! Once you do it a couple of times it will get faster. How many breaks did you take while admiring your work and showing to your friends? Atleast you went the extra step to deep clean your paint before you put the zaino sealants on. I am sure it looks excellent in person.

Excellent results! Love the swirl free finish. Prep is always all the fun....Applying a few coats of zaino is always the easy part of my details.

polishing and swirl remover is always the most work and time consuming. I like CS as my 3rd layer since it is so fast. Once a month with Z8 for that extra pop and your car looks like it rolled out of the paint booth.

I'm confused..lol. You said originally that you detailed for 5 days straight,..and 12 hours a day. How did the above steps take you 12 hours each??? Did your paint need to be clayyed twice? Did you really machine polish the paint 5 times before applying the zaino products?

I am in no way an expert detailer,..but this past weekend I:

ZPC'd with UDM and orange pads

ZAIO

Z5(twice)

Z2(once)

Z6 in between it all

Z8 for final coat

I think I spent a little over 3 hours actually working on the car. Next weekend I'll put 2 more coats of Z2, followed up with some Z-CS.

Either way...your car looks great! Keep with the Zaino. It's sooo easy to use and maintain.
