:angry AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH :angry

First off sorry for moaning here.

I placed an order from Autopia last month and it was sent on the 14th to UK.

I've heard nothing from post office so I called today to see if it was there. Apparently it was booked into their office on 26th Nov......but its not there now!!!!!!!!!:angry

At this moment in time they have no idea where it is.:angry

UK postal service is terrible......and I'm trying hard to remain polite here

I was looking forward to receiving my order and right now, I don't know if I'll bother re-ordering, when and if, I get any compensation, if the parcel is gone forever :angry

Please note this is not a complaint against Autopia shop just the UK Postal Service (Service????????) Not sure if it's in right forum, but it is to do with products......well not receiving them anyway.

And soon I'll be starting a 12 hour night shift.....can the day get any worse???

You go ahead and have a rant mate.

Service is a word which seems to be disappearing in the UK completely. It's left to people like Alex @ serious performance to provide a good service and a damned good job he does too!

As for the post - can you remember the last time it came before lunchtime...??!!!

Don't get me started on public transport, shop assistants, speed cameras....deep breath needed!!!

They wouldn't get away with it in the USA!

This is good feedback to me and others who ship to the UK. However, you might want to note that other shipping methods, like UPS and Fed Ex, are nearly double the cost of Postal Service Airmail.

Hey at least you don't have disgruntled postal workers routinely shooting up the place! Do you?

Hence the uniquely American expression, "going postal on somebody."

:usa

DavidB.....I have no complaints on how you sent it David. The fault lies entirely with the Post Office in Huddersfield. First they either didn't try to deliver or leave a card for me to know they attempted to deliver and 2ndly they appear to have let it vanish from their office.

I will know tomorrow if they have located it, know where it is or went to. If it has gone for good I will be claiming for everything including the shipping costs....updates will be posted.

Spilchy.....there may be a disgruntled customer shooting the place up soon :angry

AndyC.....I can't complain about regular postman (apart from the bills he brings :( ), he's always here before 9. It's just Parcel Farce that is terrible. Does Alex use them too or a proper courier company??

Mind you, ANC brought me a delivery this morning.....but was trying to deliver it next door and they were out....so I nearly missed that one too. It seems nearly every time I order something it comes late, is wrong or like now....vanishes.

Ok I've done moaning for now

Alex uses regular Post Office and they usually leave a card if the order's too big so maybe I shouldn't moan too much!

And as Spilchy says at least our postmen don't go around shooting people - kinda makes living in dampl ole Blighty worthwhile, don't it....?

Then again, Spilchy maybe never read Postman Plod in Viz (subtitled "he's a miserable b*****d)

Florida sunshine = 98% detailing weather and Miami South Beach a short drive away……..you choose. LOL

I'm no fan of the post office as the studios where I used to work were opposite the sorting office in Farringdon, and it seemed like there was an excuse for strike pretty much every other day!

However, my postie is a good chap into his cars and I've only ever had one package go missing which appeared two weeks later at the delivery address... Funnily enough during the postal strikes!

Man, I was just at the US post office a minute ago....it takes so much mental enegry to go there. FREAKIN' WORST PART OF MY DAY! 1 person in front of me in line and I am waiting 10 minutes. OH, BE SURE NOT TO STAFF UP AROUND THE HOLIDAYS OR ANYTHING!!! If I would have come in 5 minutes later I would have hit the rush and I would be standing there until 5pm!

//end rant!

The Post Office is not great but think back 10 -15 years ago and todays service is lightyears better. I used to be a distribution manager shipping products across the UK and Europe. The PO were no better or worse than most other couriers.

Of course, none of this matters when it is your package.

Steven

I like to think of the Post Oriface this way:

If it costs a dollar to send something, there is 5 cents for the postage and 95 cents for the storage!

:lol Reminds me of Super Troopers. The highway patrol was being disbanded due to budget cuts and the soon to be ex cops were discussing future job prospects. One of them said "I've applied at the post office." One of the other cops replied, "Well, you'll finally get to shoot someone!"

Actually while i was slaving away for the last 12 hours (ok i was taking it easy and drinking coffee.....but that's a minor detail :p ) I was thinking that if someone else has got my order I'll be on the lookout for either a very shiney car or a very streaky/hazey one.....the power of Klasse done right or wrong!

I've calmed down since yesterday and just hope that when they get in touch later they have good news or it'll be back to being Mr:angry

Update will follow later...........

Dont worry, your not alone. The postal service here in Oz aint all that flash either. Took 14 working days to locate my parcel...

Shiny PO vans - I'm still rolling around on the floor laughing at that one. Fastest car in the UK is either a PO LDV hi-roof with dents and scuffs all over it or the absolute Daddy of them all, a Mercedes Sprinter - kid you not people, I had one tailgate & overtake me at **cough cough** 110 on the motorway....

I've generally found the UK PO to be pretty good, private courier firms are certainly no better.

Only recent complaint I had was a package from OZ that took longer to reach me from London than it did to get from Oz to London, only about 11,800 miles difference!

Maybe they have being trying to deliver to the nearest mental institution, because they probably think anyone ordering car care products from the US can't be sane, when there is a Halford's down the road:D
