I need help spending money - I think I want Zaino

I am not an avid Zaino user, but do have the products. I can tell you, that your challenge is exactly why I stopped using the products. RMG, Nattys, Pinnacle, and JW turned me around.

I challenge one avid zaino user to a product shoot out, send me samples of zaio and z5pro and I will send you samples of p21s paintwork cleanser, RMG, and either natty's or zymol carbon.

We will each do half a hood using the blue tape method and compare. I promise to use the products the right way, and give an honest review.

Any takers?

Ron,

Now I am definately no expert which is why I asked such a stupid question to begin with, but one thing I have read and even experienced with the Meguiars is that the Nuba waxes last a few weeks if that. I really need something that is going to be a little more durable for the elements, which is why i decided to go synthetic and try the Zaino. When I was at a car show just last week someone was selling P21S and I got to see the results in person; as far as I am concerned they were absoultely astounding! But from what I read on this forum they don't last long. I would like to take the car to a few cruise in's and maybe a car show or two which is why I am concerned about the perfect gloss and debth (although my Impala is far from perfect) on those particular days. As for daily use its is very important to me that the car is presentable but at the same time, bug splatter does happen, and rain, and road dirt, and I really can't be out there detailing the car every weekend. I need something that I can clean and will look good if I maintain.

In any event, I really like the above^idea,... it would be nice to see which products actually give the better appearance. My bet is your P21S and RMG would probably win. Anyone want to give it a try and let us know??

Product shootout based upon what? Durability? Looks? In my very honest opinion, if we did durability, it would not be a contest. Even those who hate zaino will agree that it will outlast the carnauba and glazes. As for looks, it's truly subjective, and what keeps it interesting. What I love as far as looks, someone else can hate.

Well like I said in my earlier post, if its durability you want, collinite will give you (at least thie is MY opinion) better looks than zaino and at least the same durability.

I was talking to the owner of a detailing supply place near me called PAL auto, he has used all of these products as you might expect and he wanted to test the durability of collinite 915 on his solid black truck. He said he got 6 months out of it and that it looked way better than a sealant. This is the product I am talking about

Collinite Marque D’Elegance Carnauba Paste Wax #915

Anyone who has used collinite will attest to its durability. And based on your environmental conditions, it is possible that it will outlast even zaino.

Collinite users please back me up here, I usually use beauty waxes because I wax often but I have hard many testimonials on collinite's durability.

I dont care what product youre using, you cant ask for more than 6 months.

This is from xhaust50 in another thread about collinite.

"Applied Nov. 15, still beading well and has good slickness today, which is 5 winter months. It's also seen plenty of road salt, but I don't ever use the auto car wash so maybe that evens out."

Not only is that 5 months for him, but its WINTER, as in salt...

That's exactly my point. Looks is purely subjective. You may like the collinite look, as well as many others, but some my not like it. It's all in the eye of the beholder. We could go back and forth on durability all day. To each his own.

Greg

Ill tell ya what,... I agree with the "objective" statement,.... since I am the new kid on the block, I will try the Zaino I bought and let you guys know what I think about the "looks" of it. Then I will try one of the other systems and write up a comparison. Be be prepared to wait a while, I am pretty much out of $$$ at this point.

Dan

I never totally understand why people so fervently want to convince others that one product is better then another (after all the individual in this thread has already purchased and subscribed to Zaino). So I'll pose my own challenge, if Danspeed isn't happy with the results of his Zaino products I'll give myself a lap dance (try imagining that!). ;)

I've used Collinite 845 and Zaino. From my experience Zaino washes cleaner longer. Looks are subjective. I for instance prefer Z5pro on darks and Z2pro on lighter mettallics.

Josh: Clue #1 is for Free.

Everyone is aware that you have purchased Zaino and like other products better.

Big deal.

No matter how many times you post about it, the Earth isn't going to stop spinning.

Let it go man.

It's like the movie Ground-Hog day with you brother. :tumblewee

MGM, well put. OP, you will not be disappointed with Zaino, if you are, contact them and I am SURE they will provide a resolution.

Danforz,

You should enjoy your chosen product, Zaino. An added plus is that you have a resource here of many years of experiences. Zaino is not a new kid on the block, this months favor, or a follower of the latest trend. Check the archives from 7 years or so ago and see what products have longevity of satisfied clients. Zaino leads the way in sealant technology with constant updatings (most not even announced) of all their products and evolutionary introductions in detailing (i.e.CS).

Have fun. :D

I've never used Zaino but I have no doubt that it's one of the top products on the market, simply by its reputation. To be honest, I'm not even sure I've seen a car in person with Zaino on it. It's fascinating to me just how much passions are raised (or imflamed, as the case may be) most everytime it's mentioned in the forum.

I realize you already blew your wad on a big Z order, but you might want to do a search on the Click and Brag forum for black cars to see what sort of results people are getting from other products.

What are your plans for correcting the marring on your paint? You made a big deal about how bad it is, but I don't believe Zaino has anything in their lineup to deal with that. Preparation makes a much bigger difference than the final product you use.

Honestly, I was pleasantly suprised to find that Z5 Pro looks as good on black as Wolfgang, NXT and EX w/carnauba, all of which have better than average depth for sealants. Still not quite like carnaubas but a huge step in the right direction.

Z-PC will take care of light to moderate defects using a cutting pad but on hard paint with anything beyond moderate problems it isn't aggressive enough; so I'd agree that maybe a quality compound should also be ordered.

Heh. Yeah, 2% doesn't sound bad. Unless you're one of the 2%.

You've seen it, now you can't "un-see" it. :nervous2:

After seeing your goatse pic, I was wondering where I had heard it before. NO! I didn't visit the website... wiki'd it and remembered what it was. Funny thing, turns out a rapper devised his album casing such that when you take apart the jewel case the goatse picture is printed on the back of one of the information cards. hehe.

I can even post a worksafe version....a board I go to did a bunch of chops of the pic. It was hilarious!
