Um, I'm not saying that the skate punks at the local rec center are going to say "OMG, that thing's covered in Vintage, we better not go key the hood again!". Or the lady with the minivan and the twenty kids is gonna say, "Oh, kids, lookout! That thing's covered in Vintage! Make sure you don't pound his car when you wildly throw open your doors!" Uh, no MikeWinLDS, I'm not that naive. I'm saying that any damage caused by normal environment issues (the ones specifically stated), or by washing are a thing of the past. Wishful thinking? I don't think so. C'mon, man. Give me some credit. :)

To reference to the minivan. That's why you part out in "BFE." But then again, you do ignorant people that have to park right next to you when you are the very end of the parking lot...:doh

Yeah, unfortunately that happens *alot* where I live. The parking lot can be 10% full. I'll park way out in BFE. Nearest car a football field away. Come back out to find some d@mn SUV parked so close I can't open my doors.

Hey you...take it easy on those minivan comments :nana: I bet my MPV got some of its door dings from "nice cars" that cost several times what it did :chuckle:

Heh heh, sorry, couldn't resist :grinno:

It's currently off getting the rusty-looking (but still perfectly good) EGR housing replaced because it made the otherwise immaculate engine compartment look insufferable to me. Heh heh, I don't mind paying a bundle for that but I make excuses about not buying Vintage :o

Heh heh, I know what you mean.... A guy I work with has a brand new 997 TT. He and a few other of his exotic car afficionado friends were out meeting at some widening in a road out in the middle of no-where so they could, uhm, "Enjoy" their cars. His buddy pulled up to him in his own brand new 997, opened his door, and proceeded to put a huge door ding in the passenger side of his car.

And Accumulator, there's *nothing* wrong with replacing perfectly functioning car parts just cause they don't look good. At least, as long as the wife doesn't find out about it. ;)

As good as concours is, there is a definite difference between it and Vintage. I'll let you find it out yourself.

Edit: I stayed away from debating about the value of/or not purchasing Vintage, as it seemed that the consensus of this thread was that it is an excellent wax, and how much we are happy for Mike in his purchase. However, this wouldn't really feel like a Zymol thread without a few detractors. Its nice, though, that there were only a couple in this thread.

As I've said in the past, you cannot determine the worth of Vintage or any product without first trying the lsp out and doing a very thorough comparison. There have been some that have claimed to have tried Zymol and were not satisfied in its results. That is a perfectly acceptable position if in fact a Zymol did not produce a result as it may have been expected.

On the other hand, as a few of us have stated, the results of Vintage, in the opinion of a few, have been nothing short of astounding.

In the end, you won't really know how good Vintage is or any zymol is without experiencing it for yourself. You cannot truthfully say (or believe) that a $25 (or any other lsp for that matter) can be as good as Vintage without a comparison experience.

I can say, based on my experience, that I've yet to see other products (with the mild exception of perhaps one or two of the up and coming exotics, giving *benefit of the doubt* status, and a few high caliber Zymols) approach the dynamic range that Vintage has produced for me in person.

Those are the exact words I would've loved to said, but couldn't think of them for myself, everytime one of those prolific "no way it could be that good/you're an idiot for spending that much on a wax/it's no better than cheap product "X"" posts comes along.

I'd love to copy-and-paste that text into my sig.

Heh heh, actually Accumulatorette was the one who pointed it out to the service manager: "My husband thinks that rusty thing is probably for the EGR valve, but whatever it is we want it replaced so things look decent in there. What, three days? Nah, overnight it at whatever cost and just be careful not to touch the paint". Bless her heart :D

Oh, and YIKES  about that 997!

well im back from school. I have looked all over and there is no little tag.

no package today... hopefully it will come tom. but i guees we will find out then

Did you get a tracking #? If so, what's it say?:hifive:

nope.. iguees with internatiol orders they have to get one when they ship it. since its not automatic someone hasto go to the post office and ask for it.

I e-mailed brett asking him if he had one, he said he would have to check with the warehouse, perhaps find the guy who actully took the box to the post office. he said he would let me know as soon as it comes...

But there are 2 days left in the week... i have all day off well untill 6 so i should be home for most of the day, meaning i should be able to get it if it comes. If not i have friday. Im detailing so I might have to wait.... arg... oh well

Ya Supe I can get a steam goin' when sometimes I have to explain things to insensitive onlookers. J/K. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I want to stress that folks should not jump to conclusion just because the price and packaging may seem excessive. There is much more to this wax than what meets the eye (we both know that!), and saying its not worth a typical wax out of the *sour grapes* idiom will only make one miss out of a potential opportunity to discover a wider finish range that could be reached with a zymol!

But I think your narratives really put a point on vintaaaaggghhhe! Your thread(s) were awesome!

Thanks, man. :)

The next thread is gonna be a long one. It'll still be about two to three weeks before I get the pictures and the narrative put together, but it's gonna be titled, "my parrot ate my Charger." And it has to do with another recent topic in this thread: replacing car parts that still work perfectly, but have.... let's just say... "cosmetic issues", which is another way of saying "my parrot ate my charger".

eeuuggg.....don't I know about that. Like perfectly working catbacks, wheels......wax.......but all in the name of sound and aestetics (bad spell).

*Heh heh*: and hopefully soon we'll see the thread titled "Vintage finally takes down The Accumulator" mmmmlolllll!!!!!
