I just ordered Vintage

Forgive me for asking if its already been discussed before, but honestly, whats to keep a Vintage owner from ..[sharing the stuff]...

Noting that if somebody distributed samples *with the intention of finding more Vintage customers* I'd consider that different; I think it's stupid that people can't sample the product the way they once could....other than that:

It might be naive of me, but I like to think that the sort of people who spend $1800 on a wax are above doing underhanded things for a minimal ROI.

Heh heh, as blackmarket enterprises go, I dunno if reselling Vintage would really be very profitable ;)

..I just can not see how it benefits you to apply by hand. As you use the PC or UDM you can clearly see the nuba wax (even that high of a percent) "melts" on to the cars finish.

Noting that my knowledge/interest in this topic is purely hypothetical/academic at this point.... the heat is supposedly required to melt the hard carnauba right?

Even if it melts a moment after contact with the paint (takes a second for the machine to heat it up), that initial pre-melt contact might cause micromarring, at least on some paints.

Heh heh, I sure hope it *can* be applied by machine, but my Jag's lacquer isn't something I'm gonna experiment on, and it *is* pretty soft. I can see heating up the pads or otherwise getting around the issue though.

If the wax works via a buffing machine, then ok (I still feel that it is not a correct method of applying an EGZ!). Wax is NOT supposed to be worked in or scoured into the paint. Wax is supposed to glide softly over the prepped paint, and very carefully buffed off. The zymols have been well known to have caused some streaking or micromarring if they have been incorrectly applied.

As long as no marks in the surface have been produced, then use the method that works. Any type of streaking or marring from a wax application (by hand or machine) is an unacceptable method IMO, so take care that NO marks are being produced.

Edit: Hope your shoulder gets better.

Heh Heh: Accumulator giving zymol pointers...........what is the world coming to?????:aww:

Forgive me for asking if its already been discussed before, but honestly, whats to keep a Vintage owner from portioning out the product to friends, getting a refill, and dividing it up again?? I mean other than the obvious moral issues couldn't someone turn a pretty healthy profit selling off portions of their Vintage??

Its been touched on lightly. It can present a very sticky situation on certain boards, and it can also lead to misunderstandings between parties. A venture into a big purchase like Vintage should be an agreement made between parties preferrably before the purchase, so that everyone knows the limitations of the deal. Sorry for paraphrasing, but Jonnycomelately's asking for portions will leave someone open for many more requests for the "stuff." If you do for one, then there's not a really good reason for denying others. My friend SuperBee put his position so...so well........

"I'm not givin', sellin', or sending any portion of Vintage to anyone, and I'm sorry." (It went something like that). It really isn't anyone's fault; It is really the situation set up by Zymol. Why should such an excellent product be sooo expensive and so out of reach to many??? I empathize with others, but its just ( I've found) a very difficult situation to be in.

Well folks i did it. i gave into my brother telling me to stop complaing... i bought zymol vintage... omg im shaking right now.... i ordered it from ocd garage.. i know some ppl have had issues but I never had.... omg I dont know what to say... im gonna get vintage :bounce

Yup, I gotta admit, I was shaking too after I ordered mine! Congratulations, man, I hope you enjoy your Vintage as much as I have.

I sure hope you don't have any problems with OCD Garage. I ordered my Vintage straight from zymol.com. Their shipping charges were outrageous, but I wanted to make sure I ordered it straight from the mother ship.

Let's see some pictures!

OK, now that I read your first post, I gotta go back and read the first eight pages of the thread....

Hi again SuperBee! Just curious, how much did you pay shipping for your Vintage? I purchased my YEARS ago and at the time, they had free shipping for orders $125 and over. Those were the days :woot:

if i buy a tub i will give out sample's.

Careful there, man.... As I mentioned in my Vintage thread, I was literally *overwhelmed* with sample requests. And really, to be fair, you're going to have to hand out samples to everyone that asks. And believe me, you'll need more than one container of the stuff to do that.

If you do order the stuff, there's gonna be a hundred copy-and-pastes of the above quote PM'd to you immediately.

As I stated before, I would have loved to hand out samples to everyone that wanted one, but it simply wasn't do-able.

Ouch! Just got my refill returned yesterday and the full container is sitting so gloriously on the fireplace mantle. I definitely won't get Solaris, but Royale is definitely being considered. I'm not looking forward to paying the shipping for that one!:nervous2:

Good one. I ordered from the mother ship too.

I just had my container refilled a week ago. It takes about a month's time (give or take). I got mine for the full price (then) with free shipping.

It is still worth the price even at 2k. As much as I would like to try Royale, I probably will not take that step. And Solaris........in a dream.

They are excellent products though; I won't take that away from them.

On the fireplace mantle, wow your wife must think you are crazy lol. If I had a tub of that I would probably keep it in a glass front mini-fridge lol.

Vintage contains 61% white carnauba by volume (according to Zymol) and comes in a 22 oz. container. Royale is specially formulated for the color of your car, and contains 71% white carnauba by volume, and comes in a 52 oz. container. Both waxes are stellar in terms of appearance. I'd wager that the royale is the sharpest among all of the zymols (it had better be), but vintage and royale seemed close to each other in appearance.

Ahhh interesting. Why does Royal come with two tubs?

You give Zymol the color codes for your cars and they make customer formulas. 2 cavities for 2 cars or 1 specific car and 1 universal wax, or whatever you want. I'm seriously considering it after I get rid of all of my other eg's. Then I'll have Vintage and Royale. Again, Solaris is out of the question. I was considering it when the original quoted price to me was $14k. But $30k, no way.
