I just ordered Vintage

lbls1 & SuperBee364- Heh heh, my delaying the (seemingly inevitable :o ) Zymol leap just got easier- the guy working on the Jag ran into something problematic and now it'll almost certainly be spring until I get it back since we don't want to move it around during an Ohio winter (OK by me as I really don't have room for it at present). Heh heh, calgarydetail isn't the only person who's waiting and waiting and waiting ;)

Can't wait forever yaknow.....

One day you'll look back and wonder............"why did I ever wait this long?"....good buddy heh heh lol!!!!!!

Edit: Good luck on your project. A good painter and restorer are good friends to have in the wonderful (and deceitful) world of auto body repair!

For the Canadian Vintage people, you guys are troopers! Can't live with the huge taxes & customs money. Hope it works out and your customer base has the demand to fit the price level.

Yeah, don't I know it. I thought the XJ-S was almost finished, but something else came up that really oughta be fixed now, while it's already out of action.

I waited over *20 years* to have some of this work done on the Jag, and the paintwork that the RX-7 needs is related to pre-delivery stuff too!

I almost feel like just buying the wax and sending it to him so this thread doesn't get any longer. I've never heard of customs taking this long. Are you sure they're not trying to use up your Vintage on their postal vans so they can get a refill and then send the refill to you? Has it even shipped out from OCD yet?

ok so quick update, I have called Zymol and asked them to look into it. diane said she would do what she could, very helpfull.

It has no come as im sure you assumed, it might come today but im out of town for the night, need to look at a new place. so i wont know untill i get back saturday night :think2

Dude - sure looks like you've been owned!

You've been convinced that it's worth dropping silly money on the product - and a month later you've got nothing to show????

Why can't I find customer's like you - really! :grinno: :grinno: :grinno:

Apparently not......

If this is the best they can offer their customers who pay upfront, forget it.......

After all this hassle and the unacceptable service, the company should have already overnighted you a can a LONG time ago......

Beyond pathetic. The owner of the company should be embarrassed.....

I'm thinking about starting a new thread about how I've ordered a Bugatti Veyron online.

Of course it never ever arrives due to a ship sinking, aliens beaming it up from the dockside, and truckers strike in France - but I get to make lots of new friends as I post and post about how it's nearly here....

What do you think - maybe worth pitching to MTV as a new reality series? :idea :idea :idea

I'm saying that 43 pages of posts about something that doesn't happen looks like a lot of wasted bandwidth

If I'd dropped $2k on something - I'd have paid for next day UPS or FedEx, with a tracking number - and maybe take up a whole page with

I ordered it - it's on it's way - here's the pics...

I'm not even going to get into the insanity of paying that sum of money for Carnuba wax! :wall :wall :wall

Oh, man, that really stinks. Really sorry to hear of the hold up, Accumulator.

Calgary, I don't think that Diane at Zymol is who you should be talking to. You have a digital picture of your Vintage sitting on the desk of the owner of OCD Garage. Since it was last seen in the hands of the owner of OCD Garage, Diane at Zymol is out of the picture.

I believe the OCD Garage guy told you over the phone that it had, in fact, been shipped.

Unless he is really incompetent, I'm sure he sent it using some sort of shipping method that can be tracked. Shipping a package internationally without using a shipping method that can be tracked is unprofessional, irresponsible, and down right stupid. Especially for such a high dollar purchase. So he *must* have a tracking number for your shipment. The time has come for you to absolutely *demand* that tracking number from him. If he can't cough it up, it's time to file a dispute with your credit card company. The fact that he didn't give it to you the first time you asked (or your subsequent attempts) sounds *very* fishy to me. There is *no* plausible reason he could have for *not* giving you that number. The only reason I can think of for him to not give it to you is if there isn't a tracking number to give; he hasn't shipped it yet. There are many, many posts here on Autopia about people ordering stuff from OCD garage and never getting their orders, even though their credit cards had been charged.

If I place a 1800 dollar + order with a place, I would expect immediate notification that my order had shipped along with a tracking number. This guy is not living up to the customer service that should go along with such a large purchase.

It's time to start laying the smack down, man, you've been more than patient with this guy.

Assume you paid with a credit card?

Simply call the 800 number for your card right now - explain that you dropped $2k and the seller has not delivered in a month.

They give you your money back and go after the seller for you - no need to call the cops.

Yep, they make the sellers that accept credit cards sign an agreement that says they can be charged back should they fail to deliver to your expectations.

Not getting anything, and inability to provide proof of shipping (tracking #) is more than enough grounds.

No problem - yes I run a business.

See description of the chargeback process here:

What exactly is a chargeback?

A chargeback is when a customer initiates a refund for a purchase they made on a credit card by contacting their card-issuing bank. The reasons for this can vary greatly but generally is a result of a customer being dissatisfied with their purchase.

The customer may or may not have contacted the merchant about remedying this situation ahead of time. They may even be completely wrong. However, responsibility falls on to the seller to ensure that the transaction goes smoothly and the customer is satisfied.

A failure somewhere along the fulfillment process, including at the customer service level, can lead to a chargeback.

The Chargeback Process

The chargeback process is a largely unknown to buyers and can often be a cause of frustration. To assist buyers in understanding the chargeback process, I've provided the chargeback process used by Visa and MasterCard. American Express and Discover Card use a similar process. However, because they do not issue their credit cards through member banks there are fewer steps involved and the process is usually faster. The process is as follows:

1. The customer disputes a transaction by contacting their card-issuing bank

2. The card-issuing bank researches to determine whether the reasoning for the chargeback is valid. If not, the chargeback is declined and the customer is held responsible for the charge.

3. A provisional credit is provided to the customer. The card-issuing bank initiates a chargeback process and obtains credit from the merchant's processing bank.

4. The merchant's processing bank researches the validity of that chargeback. If they determine the chargeback is invalid they will decline the chargeback and return it to the card-issuing bank.

5. The chargeback amount is removed from the merchant's account and the merchant's processing bank provides written notification to the merchant.

6. Did a processing error occur? If so the sale is re-presented to the card-issuing bank for corrections.

7. The merchant provides documentation to remedy the chargeback. If the provided documentation is found to be satisfactory the chargeback is declined and the customer is once again charged for the sale. If the documentation is found to be unsatisfactory the chargeback is successful and the process ends.

As you can see, there are multiple steps involving multiple parties- each requiring their own amount of time to manage their responsibilities.

Best of luck.

NP - I'd be pissed if I was in your shoes too!

As the seller has gone past 30 days since order, with no delivery - you stand a very good chance of a quicker settlement. (30 days is regarded as a reasonable shipping time for any CC order)

The CC company is going to want that shipping note and tracking number - just like you - only he's going to jump a whole lot faster when they call him up on Monday!
