I was using FK425 for years and recently bought 2 bottles of OPT QID to test out . Excellent stuff, really impressed me !!
 
What is the difference in the looks and how do you use it? I am an FK425 user - mainly as a drying aid but always keeping a look out for some new stuff (and I love Optimum's product line).
 
I want to try out HD Touch. If it is like their other products it will be awesome. OPT QID is good stuff. Zaino Z-8 is the ultimate in shine and depth but does not last long.
 
I agree as well. I always used FK425, and then tried OPT QID...it is a little better. I like FK425 a little better as a followup to an LSP product (which really isn't necessary anyone...unless you just love rubbing body panels), but the OPT QID is better as a daily QD and much better to use when drying the car. Very slick, long lasting, and easily removes small debris from the day. Love the stuff.
 
I agree, OID is great stuff. I like to water it down just a bit (4-1 vs 3-1) as it seems to work even better for me.
 
I don't water down OID, but instead give a few sprays all over the car while slightly wet before final drying. Gives a little extra shine.
 
Still use QID and Clearkote's Quikshine but ONR has improved so much in gloss and slickness since it was reformulated I find there really isn't a need for a QD except for quick clean-up of bird bombs and for a better than RainX effect on glass.

Isn't QD strength ONR just as effective at removing bird bombs as a regular QD? TIA
 
I tried the OID but it attracted love bugs so badly, I had to revert back to FK 425. But thought the product was awesome until that happened.
 
Fallguy & cobrar97- Specifics please :D When used as a drying aid, just *how* is OID better than the FK425?



Does it leave things as slick and glossy? Is it, uhm...Accumulator Proof with regard to streaking/etc.?

I with Accumulator on this one - tuff to beat FK 425 for shine & as a drying aide. Try it, you'll like it!

That's what I'd remembered some people saying, made me think I could be asking for trouble if I switched.



Do we have a dedicated thread about using various QDs as drying aids? I have a few that I reach for all the time, and there's always a reason why one particular choice is better than the others.
 
What QD's are your favorite? I am a 425 guy but Zaino Z-8 (I guess it is not a QD) is my favorite topper.

I have been using the Wolf's Nano QD over my car/truck and clients that have Body Wrap on them and its very impressive so far. I have been using it as a drying aid too with great success. I've only used it on 1 car that has another LSP on it and it seemed to work fine with no streaks. So far in slickness and added looks, its at least on par with Z8.
 
The two best QD's I've used are Adams DS and Surf City's HRD. Both look great and are slick and streak-free. The only negative IMO is that both are pink in color, so they're not ideal for interior QD'ing.
 
I use the OPT Car Wax as my drying aide. Did my "every two week" customer today. I had run out of Car Wax---until I found a gallon this week hiding behind 3 gallons of ONR. LOL



It could be all mental, but the depth and shine seemed better vs. the last two visits when I did not have the car wax with me.
