Z2 costs $1.61 an ounce. I'll be liberal and add $2 for 4 ZFX drops. That is $3.61 per ounce, which I can do 2-3 coats with. Twice a year times 3 cars (2 x 3.61 x 3 = 21.66).
I use Z5 and Z2 on three cars and my spending figures are much closer to ZaneO's estimates than to $40-$60 a year. (I am still using the same bottles of Z5 and Z2 what I purchased 2 years ago!).
Also, there is no need to use ZFX after the first layer, unless you want to apply multiple layers quickly. Personally using ZFX on every application is worth the extra expense to me, down here in the warmer South, I can easily apply 3 layers of Z2 or Z5 to a vehicle in an hour when using ZFX, no waiting times. My time is just more valuable to me than the extra expense of using ZFX.
BTW, Although I disagree with Chris's conclusions (personal preference only) I do want to join the other members, complimenting Chris on an excellent review. I think it highlights the differences between the two sealants very well and is very fair and balanced in it's presentation.
Good job Chris! :xyxthumbs
