I'm in if it's a quality piece...

Rumour has it that they are made by the same source that makes it for Meg's backplates.

I took it for a spin tonight and it was buttery smooth, this is what I have been missing !

5. Heatgain

Count me in for a 4" AND a 5". For sure. where do I send the $$?

Speaking of that, I was thinking of making my own version. A 5"backplate, attach let's say a 5" low profile orange pad via the velco, and spray glue some velco to the face of the low profile pad, then just add the pad of your choice, velco'd to the face of the low profile pad. What do y'all think?

Could we ask you at a later date for 1(or 2)?

BTW... if im not mistaken these are the same BP Todd uses. He uses a black 1... never knew what it was though.

Funny you mentioned American Buffing, I don't know about them making the BPs, but I do know they make the Score pads that Kevin Farell uses.

buffing pads|foam buffing pads|auto detailing buffing pad| polishing pads - Kleen Car|professional detailing training|equipment

Those pads are on sale for a reason, as I heard from Kevin the cross groves aren't what he prefers and a flat pad will work just fine depending on the buffing style. Kevin was telling me the Meg's design is off sided, but I'd just say it's a preference in design (as seen by the many 3M/Meg's BP fans).

The pads that are on sale do not have the crosscuts and are flat even though the photo in his site have the crosscuts. What do you mean off sided ?

My source won't be back till next week, he is currently travelling to Meguiar's HQ as we speak for a meeting this coming week.

I will get back to you guys when he is back !

Guys I will get some news by next Tuesday, yes I know its been awhile and I am sorry for the delay. My source is situated out of my way so I have to make a special trip to go get it and pay him cash, so if members who were interested and then don't commit, I am stuck with backplates and cash out of my pocket. I also checked the distributor that my source supplies to and their pricing is just too expensive for my liking. I will go to the source for better pricing and selection.

So far for the group buy is as follows:

5" backplate:

1. lecchilo

2. Pats300zx

3. kaval

4. LangMan37

5. LastRide

6. mr.ikon

7. redundant

8. jermar

2. lecchilo

3. LangMan37

6. RDAutosport

7. redundant

8. philttz

Ed, if the pricing is pretty much at where you stated, and you're pleased with the quality, then I'm all in.

Thanks for all your time and effort :goodjob

Dang, you have a sharp eye !

I guess youth has its advantages ...LoL

3m compounds cost as much here in Canada as in the UK, around $46-$56us for a bottle ! :furious:

Go to your local body shop supply store for the 3m and set up an account with your business. Suddenly its in a range that wont make you :angry. Buy 6 and watch it get even cheaper.....

Ed, I can pay upfront. Once you get a price and what I owe you. Let me know and the method of payment you want and I will send it.
