Yes, washing my paint off is some what of a concern. The Crayola watercolor paint I used isn't all that durable. The guy at K-mart said it should last the life of the car, but I have my doubts.



If you believed that, you are probably susceptible to believing that the paint can be washed off a car. Washing does however introduce many possibilities of potential damage. There is plausible scratching due to loose particles, and a general ware of friction against the paint itself. Why wash the car 2+ times a week, when it can be garaged and driven with cleanliness in mind, e.g. dodging puddles, avoid parking under trees, and high bird bomb traffic areas (telephone poles and parks).



But to answer your brilliant question ZaneO, I am worried I will scrub my Crayola watercolor paint right off.

If you are washing your 93' z28 twice a week, are you aware that you have washed an approximate 1,144 times? If you were to wash once a week that would be reduced to 572 times.



Are you telling me that out of the additional 572 washes it is likely that you will NEVER scratch, swirl, etc. your z28? Why not minimize the washing and spot qd?



I do not intend to bring attitude, but asking me if I think I will wash the paint off my car is quite provocative....

Wow, a mathematician. I don't necessarily wash my car twice a week. I wash it as it needs it, but if it needs it twice a week, I'll do it. Sort of hard to avoid puddles, etc. when it's raining outside. Don't you think?



Yes, I realize that washing can induce scratches and other surface marring. That's why I use good technique and quality products, and that's why I polish my car when it's needed.
