How long does it take for UPS to get you a package from DetailCity

I put my order in June 15. It wasn't even processed until June 21. As of June 23, it arrived in New Stanton, PA. Today is June 26. What is the deal. It doesn't take three days to get anywhere in Pennsylvania, unless you are walking through the forests of the Appalacian area. I realize there was a weekend in there, two actually. It was standard shipping, not next day, just the basic truck shipping. Just out of curiosity, how long does it take for you to get your packages from Detail City with UPS ground?

Next day from the day it is shipped out(standard ground). Most of the time my orders go out the same day. I also live in florida, and only about 3 hours away from Detailcity's warehouse.

The 23rd was a Friday, you can't count weekends.

Chances are it will be out for delivery tomorrow.
Fl to PA is probably about 4 (working) days and you don't count the first day.

According to UPS tracking, it was due here today. If it's not here tomorrow I'm going to throw a fit. Not DetailCity's fault at all.

Just be glad it didn't have to go through CACH. :) I used to work for UPS, and have seen packages quite literally just disappear there. Arrival scan at CACH, and never seen again. :) Or, sometimes, the package would mysteriously re-enter the system a day or a week later, suddenly there's a departure scan, and off it goes to its destination. When you look at the tracking details, and see Hodgkins, IL, that's the Chicago Area Consolidated Hub... fear it.

Imagine this... a 2.1 million square foot facility, where the only humans that touch your package are the ones who unload it from the trailer it comes in on, and the ones who load it onto the trailer it leaves on. All sorting and movement of packages is completely automated, using high-speed multi-angle scanners and moving arms that push the package onto the proper belt toward the next sort. It's actually a pretty amazing place, I'm surprised it hasn't made Modern Marvels or something... :) But if a package happens to drop off a belt somewhere, or get stuck along the way... it can be a crapshoot as to whether Mr. Maintenance Guy finds it in a timely manner. :image

I made an order on Saturday, and it shipped out today.
Scheduled to arrive here in Durham, NC on Wednesday.
Very rarely UPS for some reason postpones delivery to next business day (i think it said "delivery reschedule" or something similar to that)....but very rarely. :)

I ordered on the weekend, shipped out Monday, delivered Thursday. Same with AutoGeek only for some reason they didn't ship out my order until Tuesday so delivery was on Friday.

What did you order? Sometimes Dwayne doesn't have all products in stock at the time which he then has to wait for to be shipped to him before you can get it shipped to you.

As for UPS, you never know with them....

Everything via UPS to my house comes through Bedford Park. Want to guess how often it goes through Hodgkins? The one thing UPS lost (a laptop coming from the orient) was at downtown Chicago -- Jefferson Street, and it wasn't even supposed to go there.
That CACH is an amazing facility. Those of you going around Chicago on I-294 can see it on the west side of the road at 74th street.

Everything I order from FL takes one full week by UPS Ground to get to AZ from the time it is shipped. It doesn't go anywhere near Chicago, but my orders always spend a couple of days in TX.

If UPS said delivery was scheduled for 06/26 & they did not deliver on time, the shipper might be able to file a claim for a refund of the shipping charges :) - unless it was due to an unforseen & unavoidable situation. Have you been hit by the heavy rains & flooding I've been seeing on the news??

Interesting, isn't it? This is similiar to the CDW warehouse up near Chicago, except they know when each item, because of frequent bar coding along the route, should be hitting certain check points. If something is amiss, red flares go up and hound dogs are dispatched to find the problem. OK, just kidding aout the flare and dogs, but the point is they never let something be out of order for more than a couple minutes. Pretty cool setup they have.

I did some consulting at another carrier and some of the horror stories I heard about their handling is similar to your description.
