High end Turtle Wax?

One of my girlfriends has a VW Polo; bought brand new in July. She had TWPUG applied on it in late July, when the car was basically swirl free (one coat). AFAIK, another coat went on around two months ago. Recently I met her, and was amazed by the car's appearance. Of course it has light swirls because they go through a tunnel wash (biweekly or monthly). But the look of the product is absolutely great! They use no QD, no nothing in between.

Is this rubber or plastic trim? How shiny is the trim normally? What does it do to low-gloss trim?

Sorry for all the questions. :D

Before and after pictures coming momentarily.

Click here for the pictures. WARNING! These pictures are HUGE and I didnt want to downsample them and lose any detail. I dont know how much difference you'll be able to see anyway.

The pictures pretty much go in order. First one is the mirror and trim cleaned up. Second one is the mirror and trim with the wet product on it. Third is where I put it on some rubber weatherstriping, fourth is with it all wiped down and product removed/buffed and the fifth is where I tried to get the start/end of the treated area of the weatherstriping.

Something to note is that this stuff is not real glass friendly. You can see it streaking the glass in the photo. This was a majorly hurried experiment tho so draw your own conclusions.

Well, Hungary is famous for the beautiful girls... Why limit yourself? :D

She is an earlier story, but still a regular... umm... customer, and not just TWPUG is slick...

Surface is SLICK, slicker than probably about 90% of the products Ive used and Ive used a LOT.

For your description I think we got Turtle wax answer to Mothers FX synwax. I still have not tested ICe, but I promise a full blow comparison against Mothers FX synwax (I would also throw some other selanats who are liked in the forums, but in my mind FX is better that the majority of them....)

.....The durability on this stuff has to be horrible. There is no way something this easy to use can not have a downside.

I disagree. Mothers reflections advanced car wax (2005) is arguably the easiest product to apply and remove regardless of maker, price or market segment; yet the stuff has no problems lasting for 2 months....

It will be interesting to see.

Mothers Reflections Top Coat will rain bead for 3 months and is extremely easy to use

I was thinking the exact thing. To use the Mothers analogy, Platinum may be the TW equivalent of Reflections and ICE the FX equivalent.

While I love the look of Platinum the durability is very poor compared to Reflections. No contest.

I look forward to your FX vs ICE vs Others shootout. :bigups

Since OTC waxes have finally come-of-age, I've been planning on doing a comparison between all the OTC AIO waxes I have. Maybe FX vs Reflections vs NXT vs Platinum vs Gold Class vs AG SRP vs Megs Cleaner Wax vs Mothers Cleaner Wax vs :bolt

When I get time. :faint:

Just a quick update, I washed mine again tnite, this is after a week of it seeing snow and salt, finish feels as nice as it did last saturday when I waxed it. It looks great still and beads up nicely. I realize its only been a week but the salt usually kills any wax pretty quickly. With this said, I waxed my car again tnite however lol... I cant wait for spring, thank you heated garage though, I'd hate to do this outside in the cold.

LOL Yeah she's been cool about letting the Impreza sleep in the garage at night :-) Plus its just cleaner than the MDX, that car needs some detailing, maybe I'll do it someday.
