I was at my WalMart last Friday, no luck then . I will check agane this friday.

yeah, i know what you mean... i was there just a couple days before, and then *bam* all this new stuff! :cooleek:

i wonder how much better the eo1 nano spray wax is compared to the waud? *thinks about going to get some* :faint:

Advanced Auto has all the new stuff in today...and was cheaper than Wal-Mart...was going to get them to play around with...but the salesman said wait and watch the flyers....they will have a promo sale...so with the rain..snow..cold...I will wait....

I did buy a Puralator Pure One air filter....very nice filter....had great reviews...and on sale...

Indeed, my local Advanced Auto Parts manager said the same thing - there will most likely be a sale to kick off the introduction of a whole bunch of new products. Many of the new products I saw from Armor All (Tire Gel, Leather Conditioner) and Black Magic (Titanium Wax, Titanium Tire Gel) that she was putting up aren't even listed on the respective manufacturer's web sites yet. I also noticed a couple of previously-stocked items that weren't on the shelves anymore - Mothers SynWax and Reflections. I forgot to ask the manager if they were going to continue stocking these Mothers products in the future, but their absence was noticeable when I was browsing the shelves.

Here is TW's Press Release:

Ice Age Hits America: New Turtle Wax(R) Ice(TM) Formula Is Greatest Advance in Car Polish Since Super Hard Shell

:hm That doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Super Hard Shell is quite average. They should have mentioned their Platinum series instead.

I haven't seen Ice on the autoparts shelves yet, but if wanna wants to buy the products for me, I'll test them out. ;) I don't like the look of sealants on my own car so I'd have to use it on one of my brother's vehicles I guess.

We need a couple guys to do some OTC vs boutique critiques. I vote for Alex Ruiz, Mosca and Scott.

LOL, I'm a bad choice; I already have my mind made up.

It's not that I don't think some products are preferable to others; it's that they all work well. There really aren't very many bad ones. Pick a wax, and I'll apply Kit Carnauba Gold next to it and you'll be impressed. But whatever it was that you used is going to be good, too.

I think there is a lot of truth to that-some may have a bit more warmth or depth or shine but most of the reputable names produce pretty decent stuff.

I would think that the petroleum distillates would act as effective cleaner.

If my memory is correct, Mothers Carnauba Wax (3rd step, "pure" wax) has the petroleum distilates content indication on the can or bottle.

Yeah. I don't want to say that they're all the same, because that's not true. But you'll find them to be lots more the same than different. And if you think about it that makes sense, because all the products are striving for the same goal.

Does anybody see a big difference between Nxt , Nano , TW Platinum , and Mothers FX.

When you look at waxed and polishes surface all the time the subtle differences are obvious, but not big.

To most people, no. They'll all look the same and they'll all be happy with the result. Its only durability that may be more obvious to the average person.

Thats what im curious about is the durability of this new turtlewax. I'll have to post this weekend regarding that as I had my new Impreza last weekend and it saw plenty of salt living in Bufflao this week. Ill post some info about it saturday afternoon, but the finish looked great after completeing my application of this new wax.

The UMF got me on this stuff. I stopped and bought some today at Advance and I had a chance to try it out on half of the hood on my wife's vehicle.

It goes on EASY.. a little goes a LONG ways. I guess it hazes.. her vehicle is silver so I couldnt see if it did haze so I just waited 10 minutes before removing. It comes off like nothing is even there and youre just running a towel over the paint. Surface is SLICK, slicker than probably about 90% of the products Ive used and Ive used a LOT.

Interesting about the trim.. this stuff actually dresses the trim. Ill take a before and after shot but you just run the applicator right over the trim and buff it when you're removing the product from the paint and it shines like new money.

The durability on this stuff has to be horrible. There is no way something this easy to use can not have a downside. Goes on easy, looks good.. on silver its hard to tell how good it really looks but it looks "good" and it dresses trim.

Next rain Ill see how it beads.. I sprayed the hood down trying to get some kind of idea and it sheeted most of the water off and beaded up the rest in about medium sized beads. Ive seen tighter beading but its hard to get an idea without seeing the rain actually on it.
