Hey grout sponge pusher

Black Spots. I find that the properties of the ONR seem to make the dirt form these spots. I used a brand new sponge today and found the "black spots" referred to above and they could not be mold. I think it is the polymers holding the dirt from the surface of the car.

Yup, that's exactly what I got. Definitely not mold. I don't think it's bad since I checked my paint thoroughly and havent seen any ill effects from ONR.

I have my "home" wash bucket that sits for *weeks* without being used (in the water with a closed lid) and it has no mold.

I am in Canada. I went to my local Home Depot and picked up the QEP brand Super Sponge like many others have. However, mine says that it's made in the USA. Has anyone tried the USA made one or does it make a difference at all?

Quick question without reading this 20+ page thread. Do you slightly squeeze the sponge when you use ONR with it? Or do you just glide it over the surface and let the ONR do its job. I would tend to squeeze a little as the sponge would hold a lot of ONR inside and it might be a waste to put it back in the bucket?

On the side panel you'll going to slightly squeeze to release some onr. I usally glide over the horizontal panel cause the onr is dripping out of the sponge. Also on my QEP sponge, it also is made is USA.

Add me to the grout sponge fan club. I tried one this weekend and it worked fantastic. Will try to get my hands on more, thanks SpoiledMan for the idea!

unless you a buying another for wheels or something, 1 I am estimating will last the average home user pretty much forever. more MONEY to buy new products to try lol

Need one for wheels, then I'm done. Maybe one backup because I'm loving it so far. Should put me out a total of $6. I think I can handle that :)

I'm using it with ONR too. Great combo.

Man I'm glad that many of you are having success with these!:D

You are going to get the award for the best recommended product for 2007. If not that at least the award for the largest thread in Autotpian history. You da MAN!!! Spoiled Man!! :woot:

Just as an FYI, I read a post saying that the sponge was being investigated for causing mental disorders of many autopians. All Autopians, please step away from the sponge and give this thread a chance to archive itself. :grinno:

If in the future you feel the need to show Spoil man your appreciation, please send a $10 donation to the Spoiled Man Grout Sponge Fund. All donations are not tax deductible, but I am sure they will make Spoilman a happy guy.

That's it.. I am going over to Home Depot to talk to them about funding a twelve step plan for grout sponge addiction. This is getting worse than the crack epidemic.

Instead of a cheap way for a cocaine high, we got this cheap way for a clean car high. Seek help immediately please.

:help:

I believe we need to contact the Home Depot main offices and have them put up signage that has something to the effect of *As Seen on Autopia*, or *SpoiledMan Recommended*. maybe a package deal with a 32 oz bottle of ONR ;)

I've searched high and low for these type of grout sponges here in Malaysia, but I have failed horribly. My major problem is, the sponges sold here, is wrapped up in plastic as well, so I can't really feel how soft it is. :(
