Hey grout sponge pusher

I know what you mean Poyo. I have found sponges in all shapes and sizes, but I am not sure which would be closest to the "SpoiledMan sponge" The ones sold in hardware stores are usually sea sponges or some plastic wrapped thing. Maybe autogeek could start selling these, so I can import a few. I can't get Meguiars washmitts anymore so I must find something else to use.

Here is a little secret!!! Go here for a pretty decent grout sponge (they ship internationally, but be sure to read their international shipping policy), but I am not sure as to how much these sponges are worth to do all of that. The sponge is a little smaller that the Spoiled Man certified version, but it is just as soft. Give it a try!!

Thanks for the heads - up!

But, I am still a little bit sceptical, well, I was taught that MF washmitts is the way to go. Anyone have tried this one from Presto Store?

I have used those particular sponges from Excel Detail and they work just as well as the Home Depot ones. They just cost more.

A wash media is suggested based upon on the texture, how well it cleans, how well it releases dirt when rinsed, and price. I personally have not used microfiber to wash with so I could not tell you if it is the best. I used wool mitts and also now the LC Red Foam mitt. Before the grout sponge, these were my only two methods of washing. MF Mitts I am sure are fine, but spoiled man recommended the spounges by judging how soft they were, the ability to releases dirt, and the most important thing, the price.

In the end if you are doing something that is working for you and you are happy with it then the grout sponge is not really worth the hassle. Spoiled Man was giving us a cheaper alternative for washing with ONR that gives great results and is cheap. If you are internationally located then "the cheap" now becomes expensive. You have to decided if it is worth it?

It really is about safety, ease and affordability. I used the GS again today on a newer 325i with NRWS and it did work well. And for a couple bucks, you can afford to have quite a few on hand for varying purposes.

Ah see, Spoiled Man, you got Patrick hooked too.

Well I have a little secret myself. THe other day I went over to Home Depot to talk to them aobut the 12 step program, and then I looked down the tiling ailse, and there it was, a big box of sponges. So I got three of them :o

It really is becoming an uncontrollabe additction that is even getting people across the globe wondering about the Spoiled Man certified grout sponge. We need to market this thing.

The saga continues........

Hehehe, that's a good one!

I went to my local Home Depot today and bought mine. I got the individual ones by SuperiorBilt. I use Ultima Paint Guard Wash. Still undecided if I will switch from my wool mitten. Overall, I think it did a good job, but I found that it did not pick up or spread out the suds as well as the wool mitten, but it did leave the car really clean. It releases all the dirt very easily when rinsing. The best part is that it did not create any swirl marks. I am thinking of maybe delegating the sponge to the lower panels, that way, I won't get the mittens filthy. I will try it again next week and see how I feel about it.

the nice thing about the GS is you can slowly squeeze some soap solution onto a panel to add some lubrication, and also while your washing. one GS will probably last a lot longer than most mitts, yet it's the least expensive...

p.s. i still use sheepskin mitts as well...

I feel the same way. That is probably my biggest complaint: I don't feel like I am getting good lubrication under the sponge due to the fact that it doesn't spread the soap as well as a sheepskin mitt.

I can't use it on the paint. It just doesn't feel right.

I think both of you are on to something regarding using the GS for lower panels and wheel wells. Good idea!

Yes, I think that is how I am going to use it. I did try it on the wheels also, and it worked great. It is great on the windows as well. Those are all the areas where your mitten takes a big hit, so using the sponge instead is a good idea.

if the GS work, then there is no reason the sea sponges from TOL won't correct? :D

with ONR of course They are in my garage without use brand new along with MF wash mitts and other from TOL

I prefer the sea sponge to the grout sponges. I use them with ONR, much much softer.

Where do you get those? I was planning to try the GS with ONR. Have you used ONR with a wool mitten?

In california you can get the Superior bilt one that spoiled man use, or you can get the QEP one that's ever homedepot. Same thing like the superior bilt.
