Help with my return to detailing, white and silver cars

I used to detail my car regularly and even did it for some money on the side back in undergrad. I since moved to Chicago and didn't have a car or was too cold for 6 months a year to bother doing much other than a wash and vacuum with a little wipe down. After moving every couple of years around Chicago and now back to Florida my detailing products became old, solutions separated, Porter cable stopped working for a while, then this last move the box of car detailing stuff was lost.

A few months have passed, then I bought a convertible Bimmer this week and am itching to get back into detailing. So I need help picking out products as I'm starting from scratch as everything was lost (brushes, MF towels, Porter cable, pads, products, wipes, etc).

Taking into account that I don't have the free time I used to, I now have a 3yo Silver Audi Q5 and a new Alpine White (nonmetallic) BMW M235 convertible, and I need to keep it simple. What would you guys recommend?

I'm going to start a list of needed products this weekend and post it if that's helpful. Thanks.

The Process is far more vital than the products. You can get there a lot of ways.

I would look for a Rupes Polisher. the 15 is in the middle but I use my 3" far more often.

Since your buying a lot, I would try to stick on a budget and save on soap Poor boys is excellent as is optimum car wash or blackfire.

for towels I would but look at Poorbiys DMTs

Pads I would spend for the rupes

Polishes I would stay with the rupes they are color coded or M100 and M205 are a good start.

Daytona wheel brush or a set of wheel woolies

Drying towel I use the UBER they were like 100 bucks for 5 towels.

As far as LSP-what's your skill level, Stick with like blackfire wet diamonds or colonite 845 until you learn enough to coat your car and then there are a lot of good options.

Gloss Coat (Extreeme durability), EXO v2 (Super Hydrophobic), Polish angel Viking Coat (looks over durability-Looks like wax) and 22ple

I only recommend what I have used and liked.

I always have silver vehicles and the built Crown Vic was white. I'm all about FK1000P on those colors if you want to go with a conventional LSP.

For the polisher, I'd look into a Rupes or Griot's long-throw model. Whole different ballgame compared to the old PC.

For the products, I've switched to M101 for heavy correction and HD Polish for finishing. Like them enough that I've basically retired my other stuff, including M105/M205.
