Help, PC + SFX-1 = no difference?

I've used the Sonus SFX polishes on 4 cars and still have some left. I haven't had any of the problems that you've had. Are you suffering from too dry of a pad when you start off. Mist your pad with water first. I've been using the Red Baron Pad lube lately and I like it. Not sure how it changes the polish but it keeps the pad from loading up and the pads are much easier to clean.

You can wipe down the panel with 50/50 water/isopropyl alcohol with a MF then wipe that dry with another MF. That should remove the residue & streaks.

Menzerna Power Gloss would give you more cutting power. I love the menzerna polishes. Easy to use, allow a long working time and have little or no dusting. They also wipe off very clean.

I know I'm reviving a dead thread here, but I feel compelled to.

I decided to have another go, this time with my big-bad gold Lexus LX450 which has been offroaded. The paint was a disaster, severe marring from tree branches from ATV trails in the Ocala National Forest, it honestly looked like there was no hope left.

Much to my elation the SFX polishes brought the paint back, and I'm not exaggerating here, 110%. It most definitely looked better than before it was offroaded, maybe better than the day it rolled off the lot. It was to the point where there weren't even minor swirlmarks under halogen or fluorescent lighting. Only one scratch was left (it gouged even the paint) but the clearcoat was completely restored and the PC made the whole process a total breeze. I went all the way from SFX-1 to 3 and then some AIO and P21S. I've been offroad since and now the paint just rinses to a great shine. I am absolutely 100% convinced.

I also learned a valuable lesson: if something is not working it isn't working for a reason. The 540 has a horrible, tough, brittle clearcoat that is very difficult to work with and I don't think any amount of SFX-1 would have dented it. However, with the right products, the outcome is truly worth it!

Thanks for 'learning' me and making me a believer!

naterGator- Glad to hear the Lexus turned out so well! That must've been especially satisfying after your troubles with that BMW.

Yeah, it can be funny how some paints come back and others don't. My beater-Blazer is a real POS compared to my M3, looked a *lot* worse when both were in "before" condition. But quess which one polished out OK and which one is gonna get repainted!
