HD UNO problems

Hey Guys,

Got a chance to try out UNO and its correction abilities are impressive, but I am having problems buffing it off. I have tried some of my QDs I have but none seems to do any good. The only way I can buff it off is by applying some UNO to a MF towel and wiping the sections I just polished. I am not sure if something is wrong with UNO or its that I am a novice.

If this is user error, am I over or under working the product? I am using UNO with the Flex and an orange CCS pad. I have called HD car care but they dont seem to be very helpful. They told me to use a sealant over the unbuffable UNO and that it will come off. Now this may be correct but how am I suppose to check my work?

Yep, I had the same issue... And yes a sealant will remove it, but then how the hell am I going to go back to check my work and so on...

Im still working on how to get by this problem. Me and David B talked and he said it might have been the paint or the humidity or a batch error- I received a bottle of a recent production one, but I'll see how it goes this spring.

Im going to try it soon again, but it seems its a DA problem as many people I know with rotarys dont have this issue.

I think we should spark this thread back again :)

I too noticed QDs, and water cant' get it off.. But my temporary solution is to go over the area with a speed of 3 little to no pressure at a moderate speed, and it "lifts" it off the surface and its easier to buff. Get back to me on how that works- if you try again.

3D Please help!

What is batch number? Mine is dated 12/19/09 or something. I just bought it last week, so it should be one of the newer ones.

Ill give your tip a go tomorrow.

I've had some problems with removal, too, but I've been able to shift the residue with a little squirt of HD Free.

In my perfect little world, every polish (including aggressive compounds) would wipe off as cleanly as M205 does for me.

Thanks for your input on the HD UNO.

We have noticed from our detailing seminars that when we train with the HD UNO, people were overworking the section of the vehicle causing a "Dry Buff". By adding a little more HD UNO when the liquid film starts to dry, this fixes the problem. Even though HD UNO has a very good open time, you can also prime the pad with any QD making removal easier.

We will have a post by tomorrow with detailed info.

If this product works like it says, will it replace the M105 and M205. I've been reading threads about UNO for a bit and placed an order today. My wife is gonna beat me but Curiosity killed this Cat!!!

any update on how to use it? Whats a good speed for a DA while working it in. Im looking for a couple new products especially ones that will cut down my polishing time.

Honestly, this is unbelievable! You say that the challenge is one 6 months ago, yet never give us any updates... then to this problem you say the solution is going to be up a couple weeks ago, and its still not up...

How slow do you guys work, I thought you CS was alright and all, but this forum stuff is beyond slow, if you can't contribute and be on forums its not worth being a sponsor as all it does it hurt you (I know you own it) but its not an excuse to never be on!

Sorry, just had to vent it out.

Hi I really appreciate your comments.

However we never intended to use Autopia as 3D's propoganda platform. We want it to be World's most un-bias Forum. I know this is not an excuse for not being active online; but we have been very busy to take Autopia to the next level. Soon you will see the + changes and I hope you will like it as well.

With regards to HDUNO challenge...Stay tuned... something very interesting will be announced.

I say keep up the good work Tony! Whatever you're doing seems to be working OK. Anything you change will most likely be a win-win.

I love the 3D wash products...i use them all the time....does anyone know if they have samples of the new HD UNO? Would love to try it
