HD Cut vs Megs 105

How do these two compare?  Which one has more cut given the same pad - or are they relatively equal?

I polished my wife's BMW 328 yesterday with my Griots DA. I started off with Megs 300 on a Megs MF cutting pad. It worked ok but that combo just wasn't removing  some of the heavier defects. I'm assuming because BMW's may have harder paint.  I switched over to Meg's 105 on a LC orange pad and that did the trick. It wasn't 100% but certainly close enough for what I was looking for.

I haven't had to use 105 in awhile and I had forgotten about the issues I have when working with it; dusting, difficulty with removal, short work time etc.  I'm thinking of trying something different for heavier defect removal and I'm wondering if I should switch over to HD Cut. Before I pull the trigger, I want to make sure it's got at least the same cutting power as Meg's 105.

BTW - I finished with HD polish on a white LC foam pad followed by Collonite 845 in preperation for our lovely CT Winter. The car came out incredible.

I haven't used Cut personally yet, but most comments I've seen imply there might be a little bit more cutting ability with 105, but the HD product is better in every other way.  Don't forget about Meguiar's M101 as well.  Supposed to be more user friendly/less dusting than 105

If it has LESS cutting ability then 105 - it's not what I'm looking for.

Meg's 101 is actually on my short list of products to replace M105. The problem is the only available size I can find on line is 32 oz - and I won't use that much polish in a hundred years!

Totally agree on the bottle size. Really don't understand why they don't have a smaller size especially for a compound

Used with Meguiar's MF Cutting Disks and the same (old) pads I've always used, the HD Cut was much milder than my M105.  I've been told that the Cut is highly pad-dependent so maybe that explains it, but used the way I did it just wasn't aggressive enough for me.

The Driver- Besides other reasons why M205 is no longer something I reach for, when you need significant cut in a time-efficient manner, using *any* Finishing Polish isn't the way to go. Even M105 leaves quite a bit to be desired when working on hard clear.

EDIT: just saw your post on the other thread; that Rupes makes all the difference, huh?

I *still* don't like M205 though...
