Did my car today (wash, clay, AIO and SG) and I’m quite happy with the result. Won't be a a few days before I have time to add the next coat of SG (after a wash of course). I have a couple of questions in the mean time.
I was careful today not to apply too much AIO/SG, heeding the advise on this forum. I used barely a quarter oz of AIO and SG each for the whole car (I had them in small plastic flip top bottles so I could see how much I have used). Mind you, it’s a small car (Civic). Do these amounts sound about right for a car this size? Should I be using a little bit more?
There’s quite a bit of road repairs (tar!) this time of year. I suspect my car will pick up a few specks of tar before the next coat of SG. If I need to remove the tar either by spot claying or using some solvent, do I need to re-do that spot/area with AIO first (and then followed by SG) or can I simply apply SG (without applying AIO again) over the area after cleaning the tar?
Thanks in advance.
