Thanks Angelo! It was a very nice tip considering it gave me 4 meals.

Holy....holy WOW! That finish is absolutely incredible. So that's what a GT is supposed to look like. It'd be cool to see Saleen's expression after seeing these pics. :D

Also - I'm guessing you had Kobe beef? Not to nitpick, especially if you had some Colby cheese to go with it. :lol

Thanks for sharing the write-up and, of course, the pics - big fat kudos on a tremendous effort!

Thanks for a great response! I am going to send Saleen the write up and pics too. I think the owner has already talked to someone at Saleen describing what I did to the paint. Sorry about the mis-spelling of the word.

It's like you've moved out of "pro detailer" status to "Wizard".

Thanks! It's wierd cause all of my jobs this year are full blown paint corrections. I have put every piece of effort into every job I do and I am very determined to make them perfect, especially when there is money there to motovate me.:woot2: I am very lucky to have such great generous customers this year.

Great work! Thanks for sharing.

Your welcome!

Simply amazing job Ryan. You look exhausted in that one pic. Colby beef...yum...From what I have heard it good stuff. Are you sure it's not Kobe???

Thanks Pat!:D Yes it was very yummy and I enjoyed it very much.

Outstanding work.

I suspect it's Kobe beef, lol. Japanese beef from pampered cattle.

Thanks! I did some research earlier and your right they pamper the cows and massage them to make them soft and tender.

Take that, Corvette! GREAT job, Ryan!

Thanks John! These car are very cool.

Thats a symbol of American pride right there, that GT needs to be on a coin its so pretty. It seems every second of that 50hrs was well worth it. Really outstanding work and dedication.:bigups

Your right, it is such an amazing car and the heritage behind it is pretty impressive. These cars in person are so cool. They drive superb too. The owner is over excited with the way it turned out

I should expect nothing less than this. ;)

Thanks buddy!

Ryan, you have done it again :goodjob

Nice work Ryan, I thought I just spent a lot of time on a 66 Lemans pulling 25 hours on the paint alone and you did a 50 hour job!!!! holy cow. I tip my hat to you sir.

Josh

Thanks Josh! 50 hours felt like eternity on this car. I knew I had my work cut out for me on this one. The before pictures only show 20% of the defects and dullness on this car. I literally re-surfaced the whole paint job. My quick jobs lately are 25 hours:cry:. I'll have to check the LeMans out.

Great job, I have always liked the looks of that car. Does the owner road race his car?

-Brandon

Thanks Brandon! I do not think he races it, but the Hoosires kind of make it looks like he does. I know he has had this car in the very high tripple digits. He actually was famous for racing Porsches. It is one of my favorite exotic/muscle cars.

50 Hours? It shows! Awesome work on that GT; it's gorgeous!

Thanks!

Amazing work Ryan. 50 hours is a lot of time. How do you split all that up? Within 1 week? 2 weeks?

And I bet that Kobe beef was good. I need more info.

Thanks!

It was one of the longest jobs I have had in a very long time. I work 10-20 hours days on jobs like this so I become adapted with the paint. We have so much work lately, that I need to work minimum 12 hour days. It feels like I have no life.

It seems like all my customers lately all want top 20 plus hour corrections done. This year I have only done one quick easy normal detail.

It is a ton of work, but I love what I do and enjoy the finished product. On jobs like this I always ask myself why I do this, but in the end I always enjoy looking at the work I have. Pictures do no justice at all. I am very obsessed with paint correction and perfection.

The beef was great. It is very easy to chew and has a very tasty flavor of richness.

I don't know when I'll have the Lemans write up complete, it's a long one for me, I just finished it today and still downloading pics....

Seriously, I could not work 20 hour days that is insane, I don't know how you can do that.

Nice that you're that busy with the kind of clientele that want that type of work....

I hope you at least have 1-2 qualified helpers??

Don't burn out too bad.

Josh

Oh god, you done it again. I feel like dropping a stream of water and watch it sheet off as it's so slick! Eventually I'll get to your level of detailing and post in the pros :). Keep up the good work, 50 hours, wow. I barely even get time to detail my own car since i'm taking these Organizational Behavior and Organic Chemistry classes...

You've just set the correction barriers even higher! I'm so happy the Micro Surface stuff worked out for you. You are the Michelangelo of detailing! Bravo.

Nice...glad to see someone is using one of these Ford GT's the way they should be used, with some Hoosier R6/A6's.

Good job rydawg...between you and rickrack with the g35's, the m5 and now this...i wish you lived down here or I up there, I'd beg you for a job so you could mold me into a master like yourselves.

Ryan, you really outdid yourself on this one for sure! :)

The pictures look great, but do the car no justice at all. It is a really tough color to capture the true brilliance, reflectivity and depth. Seeing it person, I can tell you that it looks much better than in these pictures for sure!

It is always a pleasure to work beside you and I look forward to taking our detailing to an even higher level in the future! :goodjob :2thumbs:

I'll be on the lookout for it;)

It stinks working 20 hour days, but I do not have much of a choice. Last month I worked 29 hours straight on a nightmare job that had to be done. I started when the birds were chrping and finihed when the birds were chirping....straight.:doh

I do need to calm down a bit.

I would hire someone to help me, but I am a very particular on how things are done. Rick is the only one I trust, but he is so busy with his projects too.

Thanks for the great comments! The paint is so extremly slick on this, nothing will stick. The owner loves how it stays clean and the dust just blows right off.

It is hard to find time to do my own vehicles too. They need it bad:cry:

I have a lot of passion for what I do and that is the most important factor. Other than that, I am just crazy for the obsession I have. It is a bad disease!

Thanks Bryan! I was very happy with the end result. I am a very hard person to please.

Thanks David for the nice comment! That's what the customer of this car calls me:spit:

He said it was a work of art for sure.

Thanks again for the Micro surface info. I got samples from them and I must have to say I LOVE the paper and LOVE that black wool pad. Top Quality stuff for sure:up:up

I love the 8000 and 12,000.

Thanks! The slicks on this were insane. He use to race Porsches for a living so it is in his blood. :chuckle:

I wish I was down south so I could work on exotics all year round.

If I ever decide to stop doing this I am going to open up a school of "The Art of Polishing". It would be great to teach people all the different things you can do with paint..:D

Looks amazing, especially in the sun! :wow:

That Ford GT paint is pretty hard, amazing that even when it doesn't look that bad, it still takes a lot of time to polish out. At least you can sit down on your butt for a lot of the detail since it sits so low. ;)

Looks great! Noticed the slicks on the back, good to see someone that actually drives that car like it's meant to be driven instead of just looking at it!

You know me very well now... I just never quit till I am satisfied. I love big challenges.

Your right about the pics doing no justice at all. Like the owner of the car said, " You should be MORE than damn proud of what you did to my car". I do admit when the car rolled out in the bright sun I did have a huge smile of success on my face. To bad it took 50 hours.::faint:

It's a pleasure working with you to Rick. It's nice to see someone else that is willing to put everything they got into a job. It's nice that we think alike.

The only think we can improve now is taking better care of ourselves and not draining ourselves out anymore. Maybe a lift, some stools, knee pads, etc..... :think2:think2

Thanks Scott! I was waiting for the sun to keep popping out through the clouds. The sun was this tiny little dot in person. I just wish the camera would take the actual look of how deep the gloss really was. The paint on this was actually on the softer side and gummy at first. It was very absorbant, so extreme caution was taken and that is why it took so long to make perfect. In all honesty, I think the paint on these look the best when done right. After the whole burnishing proces was done, I noticed that the paints structure was super hard. The paint was hard to marr when it was finished, so the actual quality of the paint was very nice.

Thanks! He has slicks on all fours. He is not shy behind the wheel.:lol

I hope the owner doesn't drive on those hoosier R6 in the rain or on the street!

cold R6 in the rain...

Thanks buddy! He did have to drive it in the unexpected rain (down poor) on the way to my shop. He said it actually handled great in the rain. He drives the car a lot.

Ryan, after talking with you I just had to take another look at this post.

That clear on that GT looks to be without any ripple or orange peel, is that due to your sanding of is the finish naturally that nice from the factory?

Excellent clearity and depth, very very nice work.

Good job again.

Josh

Thanks Josh!

The paint on these are close to smooth. They do sand them out at the paint factory and polish them, but there job is just quik on the polishing. The couple that I have done all have sanding scratches still visible and they are still somewhat dull.

I did have to sand out some sanding pigtail marks they left behind from their orbital sanders. The paint was good to deal with though. If I could have gotten some daylight befores you would definately notice a huge difference between before and after.

Thanks again Josh!
