Got my trash kicked by a black Audi

Tried some cheap pads from another site.

My friend asked me to detail his black (not metallic) Audi. I looked at it as a chance to try out some flat pads I bought from another site. At the time CMA was waiting to introduce LC flat pads so I saw these and ordered a few to try. Huge mistake!! These pads did not even hold up to my PC, cheap foam with no cut. Worst pad ever. About 1/3 through the car I figured I was doing something wrong because the paint was just laughing at SIP. So I switched to an orange CCS pad from CMA and "Shazam!", much better. At that time though I had spent too much time on the cheap pads so I had to settle for about 90% on the finish.:(

Things I learned:

1. Don't go cheap on the pads.:out:
2. SIP still Rocks. The issue was the pad.:cursing:
3. I'm glad my daily driver is a white.:D

Hey Bio, as long as the Audi turned out well, then that is all that matters. I am glad that the CMA pad's worked out well for you. CMA has always worked closely with Lake Country to develop and sell the highest quality polishing pad's available.

A Lake Country Pad is a Lake Country Pad, right?

Well not really... Lake Country, in my opinion, produces the best pad's available, but they do so for a large number of companies, all of which have different goals and needs. CMA's goals have always been to have the best pasts available, so what makes ours better?

Dual Foam Technology- CMA developed this technology and has the exclusive on it. It uses a rebound foam to keep the pad flatter on the surface. While this was originally developed for dual action polishers, which at the time used 6.5 inch pads, many professionals who used rotaries and smaller pads so the amazing benefits. The pad conforms to the surface better, reducing steering, and stays flatter, reducing holograms. Stiffer foams such as the Orange Power Pad are easier to control as well.

Curved edge- CMA pays extra to have the edges of even smaller pads rounded. This provides a safe guard from the sharp edge cutting on a dual action and again reduces hologram potential on a rotary.

Best foams- Lake Country offers several different quality foams in different colors. With some of our competitors you may notice they drastically different foams between there 6.5 and 7.5 inch pads, even though they the same color. CMA only orders colors made with the highest quality foams, regardless of pad size.

Back cut hook-and-loop- While this is becoming more common, many sellers still order there pad's with the hook-and-loop attachment material across the whole pad. This can cause a problem as the edge of the hook and loop is very sharp and can cut into or damage paint quickly. CMA has been ordering pads with the attachment material back cut and centered for a long time, and recently switched to having the entire pad back cut to provide even more safety.

CMA has also lead the way in development. The Gold Concours Foam was our idea and we lead the pack in carrying it by 6 months. I know a lot of enthusiast like to buy the most expensive products for their cars, I am pretty sure that nobodies pad's cost more to produce then our own.

[Dual Foam Technology- CMA developed this technology and has the patent]

I didn't know CMA owned this patent (learned something new today)

I will say the CMA Green pad / Menz polish is one of the best pad / polish combinations

I actually mispoke on it. CMA has the exclusive on this technology, not the patent. Sorry for the confusion on it, I edited the original post.

Never accept subsitutues that are very cheap, Get the best.......[/url]

I had a large quantity of CCS pads by Lake Country but wanted to try a flat pad. My PAC flats had not arrived yet. They are here now and guess which ones I am busting out for the new Makita this weekend. :D

Round two = black Porsche Boxter. I'm ready this time.
