Good deal at Home Depot

I have heard that HD is clearing out some of their 1000w work lights for about $15 (regularly priced at $40 I believe). These are the dual 500w halogen lights on a stand that are very helpful for detailing, or other uses.

Just thought I'd pass along in case anyone needs to pick up a set of these lights...have not confirmed this at any HD in my area (already have a 1000w set), but thought some of you may want to be on the lookout.

Regards,

Mike

Thanks Mike....

I will stop on way home from work tomorrow and see if they have them..I need a second one....and for that price..it will be a good choice....

Hmmm. that's a bargain. I wonder if it's a nationwide offering...

I believe so...I had read that others in D.C. and other areas were finding them at that price. So, I'm guessing it is nationwide...at least I would hope so!

Good luck to all...hope you are able to find them. For that price, you really could barely buy replacement bulbs, much less the whole set.

My craftsman finally took a dump--the stand anyways a few weeks ago. I guess I will stop in HD after work this evening and check it out. :D Thanks for the tip!!!

Woohoo! Thanks for the tip...I only have my weak 500w cheapo from wal-mart. No stand, and no on/off switch. But what do you expect for 7 bucks?

Edit: I just called and the guy said they didn't have it...but that there was a twin-head 1000w standing light that was on display and that he could sell it to me for 15 bucks. :getdown

Has anyone actually scored on this? I was at Home Dee-po this afternoon and got the deer-in-headlights repsonse.

I scored on it...but only because they had a discontinued display set that was still lurking around. I just picked it up this evening and it beats the crap out of my 500w single light that's about 3 inches off the ground.

Thank you Autopia for furthering my addiction...my neighbors now have another reason to look at me like I'm crazy when I detail my cars.

It's a 2x500w lamp, but it was a display model and I can't find any markings of make or model, which is a tad depressing, and it's sadly not the kind where you can take the lamps off and use them separately.

I can take a picture of it if you want though.

No, not necessary. Thanks for checking.

I got a 10% coupon in the mail yesterday. They had numerous options. I may go back and have another look.

I know Pepboi occasionally has these same lamps for around $15 - 20. I can look there, too.

I went into Home Depot here in SoCal (Cypress location) and the only 1000w tripod work light they had was the Husky brand (3 Yr warranty), which rings up at $40.

Very cool. I'm on it and I have tool club card. I hope they have it when I show up!

Thanks.

:LOLOL Given your recent luck cashing in on good deals, I doubt it! :nana:

That looks like the one I got. I think it was $20 or so on sale. It's pretty rickety, not the most stable device I've used, mine has never fallen over, but don't bump into it if it's next to the car!

EDIT: I take that back, I've never tried to knock it over, and thinking about it, it probably won't, it just wobbles and you think it's going to go over.
