Going back to work

That's good news Barry and I wish you luck. I like hearing when good things happen for the good people.
Thank you.
That's very nice of you to say.
Im sooooo happy for you Barry!!! YAY!:Dancing Dot:
Thanks DC.
I appreciate all of the support that you have shown.
You are a good friend.
Glad to hear the good news Barry! I have no doubt that you'll keep up with the detailing and turn out tremendous work. Good luck!

-Kody-
Thanks Kody.
Best of both worlds. I get to go back to work, and keep up with my detailing.
Best of luck BARRY..It is a good feeling to feel wanted...I can't wait for warmer weather.
Thanks SF.
It is a good feeling for sure.

Unfortunately, there is nothing important about it.

Why do you say this Barry? Of course this position is very important to the success of this new company

I don't ever wanna hear you say this again

On a side note.....I have retitled my on position....From this point on, I wanna be known as a Automotive Appearence Consultant :-B

That is really good news. I'm very happy for you. Maybe the new company will grow to be as big as B&H photo video in NYC someday.

Fantastic! Congrats!

Interesting that audio/video workers seem to be attracted to TID - you, Jack and I have followed similar A/V paths...I spent about 2 years as a rep, another year in retail and 3 years in consulting/design.

Regards,
GEWB

Great news Barry!

I worked my whole career (35 years at Burns & McDonnell Engineering) so that I could retire.

I've been retired for 18 months and now I'm SO thankful that I have a part-time job consulting. It's about 16 hours a week and I love it!

I can't believe how agonizingly long last winter was with no work and nothing to do!!!

Congrats on your job! WORK IS GOOD.

I was referring to the grand scheme of things.
I like the title of Automotive Appearance Consultant:thumbup:
Good news Barry. Should be a great fit for you.
Thanks Chad.
I think so. I worked with him before and we really work well together.
Great news Barry.
Thank you Al.
yay Barry!, best of luck mate
Thank you Mo.
Use this as a lesson. Stay in school and get good grades, so you will have something strong to fall back on.

Thanks Ron.
Actually I would be selling to places like B&H. As a matter of fact, they used to be my customer.

Thank you Gary.
Yeah, I had a conversation with Jack a while ago about this, and we actually knew a lot of the same people in the industry.

Thank you Bill.
I was really starting to get ancy. I need to get back to a steady income as well.
It's good to hear from you. It's been far to long, and I missed our communicating here on TID. Stay in touch.
Congrats Barry! Please keep us updated.
Thanks Bryan.
I will.

Well, after 8 months of being out of work, it looks like I will finally be going back to work. I have been in the Audio/Video industry for some time, and due to the bad economy and the housing market drying up, the AV industry has really taken a beating. One of my past employers broke off from his old partner and started a new Rep. firm and wants me to work for him. Unfortunately, he won't be able to pay me a salary, but will pay commission and all of my expenses. This is actually a very good thing. Because I will not be a salaried employee, and will be working as a consultant, I will still be able to do the detailing work when it presents itself. This just might be the best of both worlds for me.
Thanks for listening everyone!!

Glad to hear it, must be the lucky Microfibers!

I am happy to hear the excitement in you post...All the best, just don't forget us over here..you hear? LOL

I think you are right. As soon as I got them, my luck seemed to turn.
I would never stop posting here. I have met so many great people that I now consider friends (you are certainly on that list).

Congrats on getting back to work!! I was laid off last spring and tried detailing for a sole source of income and the economy and cold weather kicked my butt! I just got a call back last week to resume my position as production supervisor at the same rate of salary!! I start back tomorrow morning. What a relief!!!
