What polish for glass?

I own a hightop van with the large side windows, they appear black from the outside.i believe the tinting is on the interior of the window. I had some bad water spots that i removed with duragloss and 0000 steel wool. the windows look great , but if the sun hits from a certain angle i can see marring in the direction that the steel wool was used. what is a good polish that is safe to use on glass to remove the defects. I have a pc if that will give better results than by hand.
I have learned a lot from this board and the poorboy's detailing day.I thank everyone for their help and friendship.

PPP - Poorboy's Professional Polish.

And if that does not get the marks out, you could always try one of the SSRs from Poorboys. I tried SSR1 on glass and it didn't get out the water spots, but the glass was much smoother.

I used #80 Speed Glaze via Rotary with a LC Polishing Pad today on my moms work van after claying the windows. It took a bunch of the water spots and swirling/marring out.

I will be trying out a cutting pad and DACP though to cut a little harder...Might want to go more abrasive with a pad/product/speed.

Yeah the SSR's are great on glass!! Today, I used SSR 3 to remove bad water spots and leave it smooth and reflective! Im not sure what to tell you about the marring, but the SSR line up is worth a shot.

Yeh, dealing with glass is like dealing with Ceramiclear...You can get pretty brutal with it.

Some are softer/harder than others. Start light and procede to get heavier in cut if nothing is coming out :)

Does SSR3 leave marring on your glass? I tried SSR2.5, I might have left some lines on my windows, it's sort of whitish, I'm not sure if it was there at all in the first place as I was playing around with it a bit during the weekend. I'll try it again when I got the time...too busy with work now sigh :(

Be careful with glass. Once marring from compounds, polishes, or steel wool get in there it is harder than paint to get out. It may not be immediately evident, so it looks like you are doing a good job. But then the light hits it right and it is not so pretty a sight. A rotary on glass can be brutal. Also glass can generate heat much quicker when buffing than paint.

Be carefull heating the glass up to much with a rotary. I seen some older Jeeps with the glass back windows shatter from being in the shade and pulling them into the sun. I think the problem had been corrected but that doesn't mean it can't still happen.

Chee, i forgot to mention i did mine by hand so it didnt leave any marks. The only thing about doing it by hand is you really have to work it in to get EVERYHTING! But its well worth it in the end!

Get some Spot X at home depot, stuff is relatively cheap. I have been totally impressed by this product. Cleans so well you just follow up with your favorite wax if you want.
