Glass Cleaner, what kind?

Hi all,

I am curious what kind of glass cleaner do you use that is safe for tint and does a great job (no steaking...etc.)? I would like to buy it from the local shop since shipping is quite expensive when buying online (i.e. Adam's glass cleaner 1 gallon costs over $10 for shipping). Or if you know a place where they charge low shipping, that would be awesome, too.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Stoners is nice, doesn't really streak too badly, but the cleaning power isn't all that great. If you use it on dirty glass, it *will* streak. If the glass isn't too bad, it will finish off crystal clear.

BP, question for you. If you're cleaning really dirty glass, what is your go to product?

I agree with the Stoners comments BUT...OTC at HD or Lowes you'll find a gallon size jug of Zep Glass Cleaner Concentrate. 4 ounces of concentrate to 1 gallon of distilled water and use only distilled water and you'll have what I believe to be the most economical and best OTC GC. The label clearly says Safe For Tinted Windows. I've used it in direct sunlight and no streaking to be seen. If the glass is really dirty just go over it twice. For $10.00 a gallon of concentrate you just can't go wrong!

I use an ONR mix at 8:1 or so. It *will* streak, but it cleans much better than Invisible Glass. After I clean it (soak an MF with the mix, then go back over with a dry MF), I will hit it with something like Meguiar's Last Touch, which is a cheap QD I use for clay lube. You can use whatever streak free glass cleaner or QD that works for you.

Cleaning the glass is the last thing I do on a detail, and I absolutely *hate* it. There is nothing that pisses me off more than having a pristine car, only to pull the car out into the sun and see streaks from the inside. :sadpace:

stoners, as others have mentioned. i find using two mf towels (edgeless) works great to help avoid streaking and if you use only one towel, it will get saturated quickly...
