Gas Prices???

Here in the UK, the price of unleaded is roughly $ 5.80 per US gallon, and its soon to go up again. So you could be worse off, you could be living here, where everything is expensive.

John

True, but compared to our vast open roads (traffic lights every 1/4 mile) and highway systems(with toll booth lines a mile long), and the rediculous need to sit in bumper to bumper traffic for miles upon miles, so we can shop and work miles from our homes, we use more gallons of gas every year per person than any other country.:D thus we get it discounted for volume:crazy

I'm starting to feel better and better about trading in my F150 for the Mazda. If fuel gets much more expensive I wouldn't have been able to drive to work in that truck anymore.

Sorry, couldn't resist.......This we pay for a litter :wait

Sorry, couldn't resist.....fools day ;)

Anyway, not so much, but a litter of regular costs here 1.005 euros (about 1.22 USD).

Steve, I saw on the news today that people here spend about 10% of their income on fuel...How's that? :crazy

Here in NC they have a news story every day about how the price of gas is the highest it has ever been - EVER...then they have that same story the next day. I am spending close to 100 dollars a month to keep my tank filled (stupid me go an buy a car that is Premium only).

For almost 70 years my families business was in fuel. It started in coal then went onto oil so I have a sort of heightened sensitivity to the ups and downs of the petroleum markets and the actions of the OPEC jokers. One thing that gets my goat is people who complain about the cost of fuel and our dependence on foreign oil but freek out whenever drilling/exploration is proposed anywhere in the US. We can't have it both ways folks.

And before I get bombarded with the "alternative fuels" argument I agree that we do need to keep researching alternatives to fossil fuels (another one people often freak out about is nuclear energy). But we need to provide a solution for our current situation and that mean domestic exploration/production. If a practical, clean and renewable alternative comes along GREAT! I'm on board and darn happy about it but don't complain about today's problem if your position has been an obstacle rather than an aid.

:ranton Pardon my rant. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Natty :chill have a :drunk ...:lmfao sorry no politics...this is a car care forum:rofl

ps...remember your motto was to be stress free in 03 ...what happened:rolleyes:

$1.65 Unleaded regular
$1.79 Unleaded premium

For those that use premium, (we do in one car), think about it for a minute.
12,000 miles a year, 20 miles per gallon = 600 gallons per year.
600 gallons X .15 extra per gallon = $90

$90 a year, peanuts.
Mashing the pedal on a car that needs premium, priceless :D:D

If the $90 is a real problem, take it out of the wife's grocery money. You can always sleep in the garage with the car. :)

Well, this is the off-topic forum. But you know, you're right. What the hell was I thinking. Apologies to all for my mini-tirade there. I really shouldn't let something, which I have no control over, bother me.

So for all those who do freek out over any drilling or exploration I'm sorry if I offended you. It's your God given right to chain your dingy to an oil tanker or sit 100 feet up in a redwood tree or whatever turns you on.:shift

I get mine on an Indian reservation, no tax. I'm in WNY and paid 1.71 yesterday. I think it's up to mid $1.80's anywhere else. It really doesn't bother me. My daily driver is a Focus and gets 30MPG, I'm spending $10-15/week on gas. Regardless, I think OPEC should replace Iraq on the axis of evil list.

hanford ca central valley is $2.10 and up for regular. thats bad but my house goes up 60k + every year. thats good.

$1.79 mid-octane
$1.89 premium

Prices in CO keep going up...usually we have pretty decent prices comparatively but they are starting to reflect the national averages. I can't imagine paying over $2 for regular! :ranton
