Hey guys im interested in purchasing a foam gun. Are there different models? I did a bit searching around and couldn't find them ... :wall Do you all think that its worth the cost?

Hi,

there are a few brands ex. Butchers, Simple Green, Gilmour....but there all made by Gilmour...so it doesnt matter which one you get....the other thing that change is the size of the bottle to hold the solution.....another tip is buy some brass qd(quik disconnect) and a shut off valve for example there is one made by dramm #300.....

here is a link to the

foam gun

by the way i have one and love it .....

Our forum sponsor has the same thing for less $$ here. I've never used one, but a lot of members here swear by them. They are supposed to increase lubrication so that there is less wash induced marring.

I think I resemble that last comment :D

I have a simple green 1/2 gallon foamer. I've used the quart and the 1/2 gallon versions and I like the larger one. Others like the smaller ones because they're easier to get into tight spaces and they dont weigh as much, but i've gotten used to this one. Either one will be fine.

just used a foam gun for the first time this spring. used it twice already and although i have the smaller bottle didn't run out of my premix solution of either gold class or TW platinum and was able to do each car twice ( a camaro & an impala) with it, once as a pre- soak and then again for the actual "light touch" with a good lambs wool wash mitt. didn't notice any marring in either finish. tons of foam, similar to results/pictures previously posted in this forum. do a search "foam gun" or "foam gun usage" and you will come up with tons of info. if you decide to get one, check out "danase detailing". bob is a good guy to do business with.

Click the link...it's $49.99, minus the forum discount it end up being around $45 plus shipping.

ok how about less than $25... that part looks like it should be around $19.95

Here is the Gilmore in action and it is running thought the CRSpotless which reduces the water pressure and it still foams like crazy. Great tool and now you can get extra bottles with lids.

autogeek has 'em on sale for $39.99 ($10 off) and using their "corvetteforum" code gets you another 10%

so if danase can match that price and use the autopia 10% discount code, you can get it from a forum sponsor :)

I found this foam gun for under $45. I have not purchased it yet. Does anyone have any experience with this model?

That's the Butchers model --> The Simple Green, Gilmour, Butcher's foam guns are all the same...they are all made by Gilmour. There are 3 main differences:

1. How large is the container? quart or half gallon?

2. How many dilution ratios are available? fixed (1) or variable?

3. What are the components made from? plastic or metal?

That's pretty much it...the ones at Danase and Autogeek are ultimately made be the same manufacturer.

It's a 1 qt capacity unit with 5 dilution settings. The important components seem to be made from brass( at least it looks like it in the picture).
