Foam guns

Is there any reason to get a foam gun if I don't have a pressure washer? I bought some one from Sharper Image for about $40 and its not that great. Any suggestions?

Sure. I don't use a pressure washer, and getting my foamgun-centric wash regimen sorted out has basically eliminated wash-induced marring (and with it, the need to regularly polish my vehicles).

If you don't use a pressure washer, what products do you use? And if you don't mind can you post up a picture of what it looks like on the car? I see people with the pressure washers get amazing suds coverage on the car. The Sharper Image foam gun that I use sucks.

Below is a video of a Gilmour foam gun used with a garden hose:

The amount of foam you'll have is determined by the amount of car wash soap used, the brand of car wash soap, and the mixing ratio you set the gun at.

Not sure what your Sharper Image gun looks like, but the Gilmour is the only brand that really performs well foam wise.

I don't try to get "amazing suds coverage" ;) It's just not how I use the foamgun.
