FMJ pics of Acura TL Type-S

I waited over a week to finally take some pictures because it's been raining here. Luckily, I had access to another car, so I just kept the Acura in the garage until the sun came out!

These are the steps I took:

Wash with Gold Class wash

Menzerna IP with orange LC pad

Menzerna FP II with white LC pad x 2

Menzerna FTG with grey LC pad

Menzerna FMJ with red LC pad x 5

Black Again on all rubber and plastics

Plexus on front and rear lenses

Black Magic Tire Wet on tires

Blue Magic Metal Polish on exhaust tips

I was too impatient to wait 24 hrs. in between coats of FMJ, so I just put on a coat in the morning when I woke up and then another coat at night before bed. (My wife thinks I'm nuts!)

My overall impression of FMJ is very favorable. Application and removal is the easiest I have yet encountered. FMJ is definitely more reflective than Blackfire, my other favorite sealant. I'm not saying that's bad or good. It's just a different look. So far, I like both. Slickness is just like Blackfire. Super, super slick! I have yet to encounter anything slicker than FMJ or Blackfire. (I've already tried Zaino, but not UPP yet.)

I'm not very thorough when it comes to reviews of product, so feel free to ask any questions!:)

Thats one very nice looking TL, nice job on the detail. I didn't scroll all the way down on the 2nd shot and with the bottom cut of it looked like one side was primered and one side was painted

You can't beat the reflections detailed black cars product some of those shots look like mirrors  :up

Very nice I just finished detailing my TL type S NBP yesterday. Check out my thread titled "First posted pic detail" in the click and brag section.:up

I checked out your pics. Very nice. I like the reflection of the red bricks on your hood.:)

NHP is a PITA to work with, but when you get it right, there's nothing more beautiful.!:xyxthumbs

Nice job.

I have done two vehicles with FMJ so far, but not my black car.

Great looking car!

Great Pics! Very reflective. That TL is my favorite generation. For some reason, Honda likes to shrink the exterior while retaining the interior volume. I find the current Acura sedans a bit short on length so I really like the previous TLs and RLs.

Does the Nighthawk Black Pearl have a clearcoat?

Nice work :xyxthumbs

I really like the FTG - many here have had problems with it smearing, but I think it has an awesome look.

Oh, all the pics were great but your self portrait one. Ditch the hat and Jersey :p (Yankees fan here)

Well, I guess I am just 1 step behind you... I have used the BF you sent me and now I am planning on using the FTG and FMJ on my Silvefr Audi. What should I expect? I will be going directly from BF to FMJ, via FP II.

Car looks great, Term..............As does the Sox Hat & Jersey!!! Go SOX!!! ( born in Beantown......now live in Texas )

Lovely TL-S and great job on the detail. Love the products, I use the Menzerna twins but havent tried FMJ. Im sure you are already on the Acurazine forum, if not check it out! You probably have already noticed but in the sunlight the NBP has blue flakes in the paint. :)

The paint looks really reflective! Kind of reminds me of how UPP looks.

Great looking Acura too. I really like those TLs. :up

I like the previous generation better too, for the same reasons you mentioned. I did have a chance to drive the new TL when mine was being serviced and I did like the ride a lot. The car felt a lot more solid than mine, but that's what they always do.:D

I didn't have any smearing problems either. I just kept working it until it almost disappeared.

Come on! You have to like my self portait! How many portraits do you see here without the camera in front of their face?!:D

About my jersey and hat, I get to wear them with pride this year because of what they did last year(Finally!!!!!), and with the way the Yankees are playing right now, with their payroll?!! Hmmmm......:p

I think you'll like FMJ better. It seems to look wetter than BF. BF gave a pretty deep look considering it's a sealant. FMJ seemed to add wetness without taking away depth.

BlkTac05: I knew you'd like the self portrait!!!:)

Backtees: Nice to see another Gator fan on this forum.:xyxthumbs

JBM: Like I said before, I haven't tried UPP yet, so I don't know. For now, all I can tell you is that FMJ and Blackfire are super, super slick. I do have UPP, so I'll probably be trying that soon, but from what I've read on this forum, I would say slickness of FMJ, Blackfire and UPP are very comparable.:)

01bluecls: I'm already a member. I was on that forum for quite a while when I was in my stereo and performance mod phase. I then checked out their Wash and Wax section. That's how I discovered Autopia. I've been here every night since! It's quite addictive!
