But why use AIO anyway? why not just a pure polish and let it bond to the paint? i don't want to get into this dicussion again, but why put it on anything that leaves a layer behind that it may not bond too, is my reasoning for not using AIO.
stevet said:CMA recommends using FTG before FMJ. From what I understand FTG leaves quite a bit behind (fillers) but works well with FMJ so why wouldn't AIO?
If AIO doesn't work well with FMJ it's the first product I have heard of that AIO isn't a good base for.

i will never understand how a product that leaves a layer behind is a good base for anything, unless they are of the same make up. why not just bond to the paint.
L33 said:hey JustinTRW, could you do a side by side with Z2Pro and FMJ as a durability test? I think that would be interesting.
JustinTRW said:Interesting note about the AIO compatibility problems. FMJ could also be acrylic. From the CMA website about the new Menzerna QD: " Here's the maintenance product FMJ customers have been asking for. It contains the same super slippery, acrylic polymer used in Menzerna FMJ."
So it would seem that perhaps the oils in AIO make it hard for FMJ to bond or they polymers are simply incompatible. But it seems odd that the QD is being touted as the perfect compliment to both AIO and FMJ. Platinum sells have always recommended AIO underneath and in fact, some have bundled both together.
