Packing Info

FK1 Description

Polymer Resins with Lubricity, Anti-Corrosive Agents, UV Inhibitors and Patented Anti-Static Agents that gently remove fingerprints, smudges, and other light contaminates while creating a winning show car finish with lasting protection and reduced dust attraction. Leaves the finish so slick that it Eliminates the need for constant washing. Excellent for use on paint, glass, chrome, gel coat, fiberglass and plexiglass.

Color/Scent

The color of this is bright pink. IT has an amazing smell. I think it smells like cake or very strong bubble gum. It makes it very enjoyable to use.

How i used it

I have been using this after every wash on top of my pink wax. I spay a little bit on the panel, wipe on with an mf, flip to the dry side, and buff off leaving a rejuvinated slickness and nice shine.

I also have used this on windows with no streaking, it cleans glass very nicely. This also is a good cleaner inside the car, I have used it to shine up plastic and wood trim on the interior of the car. It has many uses.

Thoughts

This is my favorite QD's in a long line of qds I have tried. When my 2 quarts are up I will purchase a gallon of it. It really does a great job at adding slickness on the paint. I also love the smell, but I really like the versatility of this product, it has many uses.

What other QD sprays have you used with which you might compare or contrast this product's performance?

Way to many to list, but i will give it a shot:

Poorboys S+W
Poorboys S+G
DP qd
mothers qd
meguiars last touch
meguiars final inspection
adams detail spray

I woudl compare this as far as wiping off and on easily to adams QD, the gloss though and slickness are a touch above them all.

I didn't know if you had used Adam's DS, but the physical description brought that product immediately to my mind. The color and scent descriptions seemed at least similar, as well as no carnauba content. Just how similar would you rate these two? I like the results which come from using DS, but the price of the FK1 product seems much more palatable.

they are totally different products, so no consiracy there. I woudl just say that the #425 picks up and goes a ways from were the adams ds leaves off.

But it looks like something I WOULD LIKE TO TRY. I'am a Q+D junkie im still waiting for the Quick Shine and the Zaino stuff to run a review of my top QD's
i would like to try the FK-1 :whistling

All things compared...... IMO #425 is king of the hill.

-And I just used Z6 and Z8 tonight and still think that.

How is the cleaning ability of this product? Does it remove fingermarks and smudges like it says? What about light dirt, how well does it remove that without marring? I've used S&W, S&G, Adams DS, Mothers, and Black magic, and like them all except for the Black Magic. Should I consider trying this product or stick to what I have (no complaints- but if its really that great) Thanks everyone.

They (FK) have a different QD (146) that has more cleaners in it than the 425. Not (IMO) in the same range as S+W, though.

I beleive it makes all its claims but as far as the light dirt, we all know there is limits. I wouldnt use this on more than very light dust. I would reach for the S+W and then #425 to finish. FWIW if you order from FK1 just ask for samples of anything and they will treat you! The sample pack on the site will give you a taste for some of the really nice stuff they have. My advice is give it a shot and if you like other stuff better then use that.

I love #425. I compare it in many ways to Z8 but with more QD qualities than spray sealant.
I like using it after a wash, to really slicken up the finish and improve the gloss. It definitely leaves a fair bit of protection as well.

Btw, my 32oz bottle did come with a sprayer.

Agreed.

Z8 is a Spray Sealant, so I really can't compare the two; but it beats out Z6 IMO. The anti-static property sold me.

I also think #425 is king of the hill too!

Yeah i didn't get a sprayer when i first ordered #425 but got one on my second order a month later. Got one each with #425 and FX-100.

Speaking of Z8 have you tried the FK FX-100? It is a spray sealant shich i find to be very nice, adds depth and is very slick like 425.

I have it, can you tell me how you used it? I applied by spraying it on the panel, spreading with an mf applicator and then removing with an mf... it was pretty greasy and hard to remove for me. I applied it on top of pink wax.

Greg

Greg,

I believe it is recomended that the product is not to be wiped on and off like a normal QD. You should apply it sort of like a wax - which is to spray on the panel and spread with a mf applicator / towel and let it haze. Once dried/hazed you then remove with the microfiber. I find it to work very good this way. Mothers fx spray wax works pretty much the same.

Remember to shake FX-100 well before using as it separates a good bit when left sitting.

I must not have let it dry enohgh last time. I will give it another shot when my car is clean. Thanks

Greg
