I received a response to shipping costs for a gallon of 425, it is around $70, plus $27.51 plus UK tax equal $114.

It is an unfair question because the major costs are in shipping but would you pay this much for #425 and would I still have the wow factor in terms of value for money

Yeah, that's pretty damn expensive. Do you have Mothers FX Spray Wax available across the pond? I like it a lot and it seems to fit a similar niche with similar properties.

That's crazy! They're ripping you off!

Here are the rates for a 9 pound (A gallon of #425 + 1 pound) package to ship from my home town in New Jersey USA to England:

Global Express Mailâ„¢ (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $53.50

Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $46.40

Economy (Surface) Parcel Post 4 - 6 Weeks $32.65

Here is for a 3 pound (A quart of #425 + 1 pound) package to ship from my home town in New Jersey USA to England:

Global Express Mailâ„¢ (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $34.50

Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $25.30

Economy (Surface) 4 - 6 Weeks $24.25

If you want I can help you out. I'll buy it and ship to you, and you pay me the exact cost of everything.

:LOLOL I like reading the restrictions of merchandise to England! We can't send you horror comic books!

You lucky Lowe!

I tried to order a gallon of OCW with a bottle of OCP & OCC and the shipping was US$140... No business.

Dang that hella alot. If $1.00 US how much is in Hungary?

One dollar is 210 Hungarian forints. The average per capita income is theoretically around US$700, however this means in practice 400.

Today I checked the local prices for a few items: Clay Magic standard bar: US$75, Gilmour foam gun US$143, standard 7.5 Edge pads US$40, etc.

So I guess you REALLY try to not make a habit of dropping your clay bar in the dirt, huh?

Hi all,

Lowejackson I feel your pain! I am based in Scotland and am trying to get some good products together that have been recommended on this site and it is very difficult indeed, as some of the good stuff is available in USA only. For example I tried to order a 16oz bottle of Adam's Detail Spray and 16oz Adam's Butter Wax which came to about $26, but the shipping was $80! I emailed Adam's and Heather Reynolds (Operations Manager) has been extremely helpful, she can use USPS to lessen the delivery costs for me. I am still thinking about whether to go ahead or not with the order, but at least she has tried to offer me a more viable alternative and she has been fantastic with her customer service.

Also Jeff Brandt from Jeff's Werkstatt has been really helpful too with my shipping queries, he got his web designers to put in a 'Great Britain' option as a shipping destination in their e-commerce shopping cart to help work out the shipping costs quickly for guys like myself, that was really nice of him to do so and he was also fantastic in his customer service too. Currently waiting on a shipping quote from FK1 on a couple of quart bottles of #425 but I suspect it will be quite high as well, which is unfortunate.

It's a real shame products from companies such as FK1, Chemical Guys, Jeff's Werkstatt and so on cannot be more readily available here in UK, I would love to get my greedy mitts on some of that stuff! :chuckle: I have to say I feel a little stressed out trying to find out where I can get various items from only for other issues (i.e. shipping and customs tax!) to creep up and halt me in my tracks. Still to order the PC, that will be the biggie order! On a positive ending, I finally managed to buy some Menzerna PO85RD3 and PO85RD today after days of internet research and emails, its being shipped from Ireland! :shocked Ces't la vie I guess...........

Anyway don't give up Lowejackson, keep the faith! :lol :bigups :brit

Take care,

Rich.

Sean and Seth, thank you for the very kind offers. I think I will get some Quik Shine and save the money for other things.

Rich, whilst there are many products which are still very expensive over here the availability of products within the UK has improved significantly in the last 5 years but a gallon of anything is always going to be expensive, by consumer standards.

I believe tea was rather expensive many years ago in Boston and that caused any awful lot of trouble :brit :bolt

Well if there is an Fk1#425 Tea Party I am gonna hop right in and get squeeky clean, heck since I won't attract dust anymore I wont have to QEW myself every morning :chuckle:
