First pots in the US: Swissvax Insignis

Ok I have to step in here.... This is where all the hype v. actuality needs to come into play. This is a two parter. The first is I'd like to see concrete proof of this claim (should be an easy one) and 2nd does high nuba content mean better protection? Will the $1100 wax (CR) last longer and outperform the $20-$30 tub (DP's MAXWAX or Danase's Classic wax even) the realistic answer is no. Not even a little bit. In fact most of the time the higher priced waxes protect even less. (Umm supernatural anyone) Do they give more sheen or shine?? Well compared to some maybe... But have you seen the shine and sheen on wet diamond with polycharger? (yea it's a sealant I know) I bet it would blow this and CR out of the water. and that's still at just a fraction of the cost. these high end waxes are pure hype. they always have been they always will be. They don't out protect they don't outshine they don't do anything special. There's is no such thing as a "Luxory nuba made specifically for a ferrari's special needs paint" it's 100% pure marketing. And in the words of the great Todd Helme (and I can't beleive I'm quoting the guy but he's 100% spot on here) the LSP makes very little to no difference in the looks of a properly detailed and "jeweled" paint. So don't go broke over simple hyped up wax.

i kind of agree. although i think they do actually look a little better and protect a little longer, but for the price it should look and protect more like 2,3,hell 4 times better.

if crystal rock cant prevent bird drop or waterspot etching while making the paint deeper and wetter looking than anything under 50 bucks i dont see a point. sealants and collinite ftw imo. my favs are blackfire wetdiamond n #845.

you cant beat 45 bucks to own both of those.:woot:

if i were to buy a nuba id try a polymer mix:buffing:

lol you only live once....thanks but id rather spend my money elsewhere, since we only have one life to live. the price of this wax is absurb, and the people charging it should feel like thieves. how much do you actually think they have into one of these containers? take away all the marketing BS cost, and they probably dont even have $20 in this.

For me, my customers like to know that the wax is over-the-top expensive.

Wax is something they have all used and can relate to.

They happily pay for it to be put on their car, no issues to date. They post pics on their forums about it.

Its all relative...

car : it gets you to worK

Corolla : reliable and cheap

Ferrari : expensive and unreliable

watch : tells time

Timex : cheap and reliable

Rolex : expensive and innacurate

there are so many more examples..... I guess there are a lot of thieves around!

There is a HUGE measurable performance differnce between a Ferrari and a Corolla that you can use to justify the price difference. With waxes, there isn't going to be nearly as large a difference in performance. For example, a $175 jar of Wolfgang Fuzion does look a touch better than a $20 bottle of Carnauba Moose. However, it isn't nearly 9 times as good, maybe more like 10% better...and it doesn't last as long as CMW.

And to add, since the introduction of the 360, Ferrari's are reliable by most standards.

In the context of getting you to work, no there isn't a huge difference in performance unless you live somewhere where you can drive over 100mph on a regular basis.. In fact, the Corolla has better performance in that context, less fuel stops, less maintenance.

Just like Megs #26 will do just as good of job, if not better, protecting your paint than Pinnacle.

How many times can you wash the car and have the difference be noticeable?

In for results!

Whoever informed us of the price shouldn't have, because I'm silly enough to buy a can of it. In fact, I'm going to buy a Surefire flashlight and a Strider knife right now, too! Sorry, I'm just a sucker for something that is high-priced (it must be better, right?) and nicely-packaged. Oh, and a personal signature of appreciation or authenticity adds at least $100 to the value of the package  You definitely don't get pieces of paper with signatures with BFWD!

Ah -I have 6 Sure Fire lights. I keep one in each car, one in my brief case, and one on my night table.

Great products.

$375?...yowza!

I think Souverän and Füzion are the most expensive jars that I own now @ $50 each, bought during BOGO specials from years past. That extra 1-2% in overall looks from ultra high end 'nubas (potentially that is) isn't worth the additional cost for me anymore. However, new waxes are fun to play with.

But it's all hype. You could put Meg's 26 on a car and tell them its Swiss and they wouldn't know the difference. 99% of you wouldn't be able to tell either.

Souveran's appearance falls off after 4-6 weeks (although protection lasts around 3 months), Fuzion about double that. CMW still looks good at 4 months and that is on customer's cars that they wash, not me using ONR on them.

I was afraid of the usual "expensive wax" bashing. To each his own. When you buy Swissvax, you pay for the name, you pay for the expensive ingredients, you pay for a fantastic product.

Even though some might not agree that this LSP looks any better than any other LSPs, it was also the exceptional beading/sheeting associated with this wax that made me want to try it, and as it was made for Scandinavian climates, the longer-than-usual durability.

I merely wanted to share my latest addition to my collection. Not have an arguement on the price. Someone asked what the price was, and I responded. Let that be it.

I don't see everyone ridicule people who use Swissvax in their Show 'n Shines saying they're idiots for using an expensive wax and how the car would have looked just as good using Turtle Wax, right?
