I worked on this car part of the day Sat, and all day Sunday. It was my first detail on a car other than my own. It was more for practice than anything. All work was done in the full sun, and I will never ever do that again. Aside from being a PITA because my polish wanted to dry up, and the wax kept swirling, see last pic.

Process:

Wash

Clay

Cleaned tires with Mothers Tire & Rubber

OC via PC

OHC on some areas

finished up with OC

EXP topped with S100

My apologies for any differences in lighting or angles. I had to move the car a couple times to get some shade.

Swirl city was very appropriate alright. Fantastic job of getting rid of those, love the flake shots. EXP and the S100 made for a great combo. Excellent work! :2thumbs:

:goodjob You really cleaned the Cavi up nice!

I feel you on the sunburn. My back got sunburn over the weekend. :wall

Did you use sunscreen? Skin damage is for real girl, fo real real. Ok, enough joking.

Nice job with the PC! How much time did you spend on paint correction?

Unfortunately I didn't...It is only my upper arms that burned, the lower had enough sun that they just tanned. DOH. I know better, guess being anxious to work on the car, and didn't wanna run to a store for sunblock. (Got some now tho LOL)

I spent about 4+ hours on the correction, I think? I took frequent small breaks to cool down and drink water so I am not sure....I usually do motorcycles so I was overwhelmed. Like I said, I have only done my own Truck as far as cars go. I do motorcycle detailing for extra cash, but have never gotten around to posting any pics.

Thanks for the comments and compliments everyone. The owner thought it looked "pretty good" but a couple of other people saw it and told me it looked like a different car.

The owner needs their "head checked" :grinno:

I like when customers express their pleasure with the work that was done instead of down playing it like it's not much different.

You did a great job, especially for one of your first times. You also chose a difficult color... dark blue and black can be trying at times. :2thumbs:

I was using the old version of OHC, with propel pads. I think they are 7". Around the trunk and spoiler, I used 4" Lake Country Pads. IMO the OHC has a lot more bite that OC. Some times it is scary how gritty it feels when you put the pad to the paint before you turn the buffer on.

My propel pads are disintegrating, especially the orange and yellow. They kept flinging out tiny particles of foam all over my freshly polished panels. I have only used them I think three times, although they are about three seasons old. Is this normal? Any suggestions what to replace them with. I think I would like something smaller, maybe 5.5 or 6.
