I'll give you two good reasons. Trolley Square Utah and Virginia Tech. Both were public shootings in 2007. The Trolley Square shooter was brought down by an off duty police officer in plain cloths shopping with his family. He was also carrying a weapon. Concealed weapons permit requests quandrupled in Utah after that event. There are psychos who just appear with arsenals and start shooting everything in sight. I don't take a gun to work or to school with me, but you better believe if I'm going somewhere public I will have one with me. I'm not going to put myself or my family in a situation where we are cornered by a madman with a gun and no way to defend ourselves. The people who are against others carrying guns are probably people who have never had bullets wizz by your head in a shopping mall or had friends attending schools where their friends were killed by a crazy person.

Just get the training that it takes to handle it in a responsible manner...in and out of the public..other wise that family you are protecting will be visiting you in a jail.

The Trolley shooter was taking down by a trained police officer that was off duty and has all the rights and proper training to have a gun in public...on and off duty..and the sales of guns went up just like the sales of earthquake supplies fly off the shelve after we have one here in CA...other than that no one cares....

All I can say is caring a gun for self protection is fine...just be prepared for what the consequences bring :D

yeah I don't like turkey anyhow ...how about a lobster or big thick juicy steak

I have a gen 1 model 19 too. Too bad the smaller one shoots better than the bigger one.
The one pictured is a 26 right?

I'm really fighting the urge to pick up a 23 in .40. I want to pick up a SP101 first. Either would go well with lobster. :D

get teh 23. if i knew how smooth it shot, i would have gone with the 40 instead of the 9. i just figured the 40 would be too hot to handle well in a small frame.
