If you think about it, durability can be inconsequential . . . especially around here. I think it’s fair to say that the average Autopian will re-apply or select a varied LSP combination every 6 – 8 weeks to keep the finish looking as best as possible. I know I do :laugh:
 
Chris, I should warn you.... for me FK1 has become quite addictive. They send you a sample every order, then I try the sample and gotta have more of that product. I place another order and the cycle repeats itself.

So far my FK1 list includes, 900-1S sampler(118SC, 121, 330, 2180, 108, 425, PW) 425, 215, FX-100, pink wax, 1000P, 350 sample, 1016 sample(gallon on order), 1119/883 Paint Decontamination Kit (on ordered)

Is it also the best for "looks"? 3-4 months durability out of a great looking product is...GREAT! I detail the cars 2 or 3 times/yr anyway, so it would work out well. Ive been using sealants for about 5 years now, would love to have a different look (in fact I switched to sealants because I had light colored cars that couldnt "look" any different than just light colored. now I have 2 dark colored cars, and now I want to experiment with different products to see how the dark colors come out).



Looks like it will be Pink Wax and 425 for now. And I hear ya about ordering more on top of more. Im looking at a gallon of 350 for vinyl cleaning/protectant, and the 1016 wash even though I like lots of suds (but I heard not to let the not-so-massive amount of suds fool you).

For dark colors, I'd choose 218 and FX-100 too. Pink is reflective, and FX-100 gives a nice warm balance to that. And unearthly slickness. Then maintain it with 425.



On my own car (dark green), my next routine will be 218/(216)/1000P×2/FX-100. Maybe I'll try 185 also on a few panels.

So Id go with 218 as a base, pink on top of it, and then FX-100 on top of that? Where does 425 fit in, or would I just use the FX100 in place of the 425 as a maintenance layer? Just wondering, because the FX100 only comes in the spray bottle, not like its intended to be put on as a layer, rather just a maintenance thing.

The FX-100 is a more substantial product - being a spray SEALANT - than the 425 which is *only* a QD. The sprayable formula is an added bonus - easy application. Use the FX-100 as a gloss and slickness enhancer and 425 as a maintenance product.



If you want to be real anal, apply the 218 and observe. Let it cure, watch closely how it looks in 3 days. Then add Pink. Again, let it cure. Observe again. Step-by-step. This the best way to learn the characteristics of the products. Let them give feedback. Apply them by hand and machine. Slowly. Watch how they blend into the finish.



Being said, I must wax something with 1000P RIGHT NOW. I don't know what but... And I can't resist.

I went ahead and ordered 2180 in place of the 218, FX100, 425, and pink wax along with a gallon of 350 (anyone wanna buy samples? I doubt Ill ever use a gallon in my life :) ) and a bottle of 1016. Judging from the descriptions on the site they should give the look Im going for with more durability than just any wax. Or at least I hope so, I have to justify my $100.00 order :)

For the first time today, I used the pink wax on my TL and wow, I am liking the FK line more and more each day. I then used FK125 after that and man-0-man, what a look! Personally, the pink wax has darkened my paint more then natty blue(go figure). Again, this is my observation on my black pearl paint.

Don't forget to try 108 - you can use it on leather as well. I love 350, but 108 is way better!

425 got me interested in FK and everything else in their [900-1S sampler (118SC, 121, 330, 2180, 108, 425, PW) FX-100, 1000P] is truly impressive also. Is it quite possible to say that FK sealants, etc. can rival Zaino & Menzerna for Durability & ease of use?
 
Piniti, well I can't say that categorically, that one IS better than another. I have some of the best rival products too but I rate FK sealants absolutely on par with them, sometimes even warmer, more natural. 1000P and 2180 can rival them; absolutely no question. 218, 216 or FX-100 is even warmer. In *my* eyes, they look even better than ... (insert other faves here). What I find most interesting, how different the feel of the various FK products are. FX-100 feels incredibly light, slickety-slick, while 1000P feels heavier, thicker. It is sooo smoooth, but *grabbily* smooth. 2180 can be difficult to apply to a neglected finish, but as it fills the pores, its subsequent layers go on easier and easier. They are products with character. I worked with 1000P yesterday. I left it on the surface for almost an hour and it was an absolute breeze to remove. And the next days make me even more happy as they gain further clarity and definition. One of the few products that really glow in the night. For me they are enduring very well; going strong after the initial application in the 2nd week of Oct. They perform far better than I need because I am waxing and sealing what I can find in the house now, because the products go that well. I have truly exceptional products, but in fact, FK is the most satisfying FULL LINE line in my experience.

Nice to know that 1000P can be left on that long and come off so easily for a paste. It's on my list of things to buy later this year.
 
Ok read this from the FK1 webpage:

Excellent for use on paint, fiber glass, gel coat, glass and chrome surfaces.





If it removes oxidation wouldnt it remove the previous layer hence being un-layerable?
