FinishKare products?

I am still amazed by the 185 and the gloss that it produced. I have never seen anything that will produce a quick gloss like that lasts. I did 99 explorer 4 weeks ago and it has not been washed yet and it is filthy but it still has a thick gloss on it. Looks like I layed a coat of clear coat on it. I am impressed!

just an FYI , I ordered #315 black restorer , and they said it was on indefinate back order.

Would'nt the 185/217 take off other product's. It sound's like the 215 AIO product. What's the difference ?

Me too. An excellent productI've been trying to suggest it but I don't think I am doing a good job.

rydawg & Fallguy,

The 185 contains abrasives. You can observe it when you leave the bottle undisturbed for a few days. The color will sink a bit, and the powder will settle on the bottom. So, it is a mechanically acting cleaner glaze, which removes impurities, water spots, to a certain degree and fills a bit as well.

The 1000P is a strong foundation. LSP doesn't mean strictly last. When you apply a spray sealant or QD over your existing LSP, it won't be the last step technically and from the film build point of view. 185/217 would take away from the 1000P's protective abilities, that's why I say that this product is VM on protective-steroids. Cleans as good, fills as good but protects more.

The difference between the 215 and the 185/217 is that the 215 has more bite and protection but it doesn't fill.

I bought my first FK1 products almost a year ago, but I can say that this "thick gloss" aka "another clearcoat" is typical to the FK1 products and they maintain this enhanced appearance for a very long time - well beyond the point where the slickness starts to diminish. It means that the film forming active ingredients doing a very good job, providing an even, durable film on the molecular level.

Hi Bence,

So what kind of combo will you suggest to use with 185/217 after prep?

i have quite a few FK1 products... except 1000p.

i had my pink wax on for a week now. i notice that the "wetness" on my ride dropped a bit... the colour seems a bit flat now... i haven't got a chance to put on my 2nd layer of Pink Wax.

ABS, have you hit it with a QD to bring back the pop ? or maybe the FX100.

I'm going to try topping my PW with 1000p or the 217 or the FX100 to lock in some of the wettness and shine. I've kind of noticed that not freshly waxed look with any product subsides after a week or 2 , i guess that's why they invented QD's....lol.

ABS,

I'd recommend 185 as a final part of the prep. Exactly as you'd use a compound/polish/glaze/LSP routine. This is the glaze part; just like VM.

But because your Pink is now on the paint now, don't disturb it. Layer on 2 more coats and fresh up with FX-100 as necessary.

Fallguy,

I think the 1000P is better as a base layer than PW, but who knows? Just don't use an abrasive product like 185/217 on the top of them...

i just washed and added a layer of #2180 then I was going to try out pink wax on the hood and trunk because it was starting to get dark, but it was so easy to apply i did the whole car

and it wiped off nice and easy too

Looks awesome!!

Thanks Guys for the suggestions! :xyxthumbs

I still haven't got the time to do another 2 coat of Pink Wax. I may put in a layer of OCW 1st instead, then Pink Wax. What do you guys think?

I doubt I'll get the chance to try out FX100. words has it, it's no longer in production. :aww:

FX100 is no longer in production ???? I must have just got in under the wire because I got a bottle a week ago. They also told me black restorer is also out of production , like I stated in above post , but is still on website.

Bence, because I like the pink wax so well I tought I would try it on first and then top with 100op to lock in the freshness.....lol , just trying it to see what happen's since I find the 1000p to be very clear, non muting ect...and might help with the PW not breaking down so quickly in summer heat and on a daily driver. I still want to apply another coat or 2 of PW first.

If those products are out of production I'll bet they have something coming out to take their place. In particular with the black trim restorer I was reading the description and I'd prefer something I didn't have to be so worried about it contacting the paint.

Would you recommend 215 or 216 for a new car with some light scratches and swirls ?

Both are one-steps to me, and both should just be fine for a newer car, 216 does hide light imperfections.

I've gotten excellent long lasting results with 146 to double check the paint,

Pink Wax, boosted with Aqua Wax and then "sealed" against dust with 425.

Aqua Wax was the missing ingredient, the wet shine I wasn't getting with FX100.

FX100 reminded me of the glassy Klasse SG look.

Darren, the 215 is a true AIO, while the 216 is a slick, wax-based LSP, not a dedicated one-step.

So would one use 215 followed by 216 or would that be overkill?

Although being a European, I don't know what Fantastic & 409 are, this combo indeed a good one!

215 topped with 216 (a liquid wax) is great. FK1 just calls it a one step because of its concealing ability. They say that the 216 is the closest thing to a theoretic liquid Pink Wax. Ah, and it smells significantly better! :D
