Finish Kare - Leda following up - call back

I would like to thank the person or person's who got this ball in motion as finish kare has become my favorite lsp in the past year(1000p and pink wax) and for what it is worth the waxes came in larger tins 14.5 vs 14 oz tins and the gallon of 425 I recieved looked like a normal window washer fluid bottle instead of that odd ball gallon bottle fk1 used.I hope finish kare gets something going on there own or gets a really good vendor as I really think fk1 has gone belly-up.

Fwiw. The 1000p I received was called BWM Big White-Hi Temp Past wax. 14.5oz with the Shark on the tin. So it wasn't in the silver tin. Like it is from the FKusa website.

The other bottles were all quart sized and looked different as well. Just thought I would let you know, since we were both curious on what they looked like. :)

Same thing here. It looks like the 1000P is packaged for the marine sector. From the description it looks like it is the same thing as the automotive version. I'll give Leda a call this week and see if she can confirm my assumption.

I've never used their stuff before, how does the 360 compare to M105 or M205? Also, has anyone tried their sealants? 2180 looks pretty tempting.

Yeah, it's the marine version according to the website. Fwiw. The guys over seas get this same version (1000p) from their distributor.

Yep, Leda just responded to my email and confirmed that 1000P is the exact same product (automotive or marine). FK1 just repackaged it. Here's her quote "I guarantee that the product is the same and you will have the same performance".

She also threw out a "thank you" to all of Autopia for liking their products :2thumbs:.

I was kind of hoping for the silver tin, just dont like the marine white tin, I know it is the same stuff but does not look as good on my wax shelf, hehe.

got my order in today. looks exactly like that..

thanks again, GoCubsGo. i called Leda also to thank her for all the help...

p.s. Leda reiterated that even though the packaging/labeling is different, it's the same exact product!!

Yeah, my stuff showed up today...kinda kicking myself for not ordering the gallon of #425 (at these prices). The white tin of "Big White" is not very sexy :werd: I guess the distributor, errr, former distributor, did put some planning and thought into packaging design.

ok, I'm a noob. i opened the tin of 1000p i noticed that they're cracked (the wax, not the can) in different places. is it safe to assume this is ok? never seen that happen to any (paste) wax before.

thanks guys

Mine was like that and I didn't have any issues with application or durability.

The products look a little different (color wise) in the picture. Is it?

Maybe it's just my monitor.

Man that Shark image is huge. I thought it was going to jump off the screen and bite my head off.

Yeah, what's the dealy-yo with that shark??

yes, the color is slightly different - my silver tin of 1000p is a few months old. Who knows how long it sat baking in the AZ warehouse??

I wouldn't be concerned about that one way or another...there are likely to be slight variations between batches. I'm sure that cracking was caused by cooling, not old age.

The odor is identical.

tom p. thanks for the pic. that's exactly how my 1000p is (cracked).

in addition, i like how the qt. and gallon of 425 were both sealed!!!

Yeah, I'm afraid that slogan is probably aimed at the knuckledragger out behind the dealership who swirled your prized auto last time it was in for an LOF .... :(

Heh heh, I must be in a good mood, I thought it was an exceptionally cool tie-in with the Great White Shark, which also "Does Its Job" :D

Better IMO than the "sizzling shine!", "lasts forever!" type of [nonsense] that's usually on such products.

Got mine in today as well came in the big white tin. Didnt realize it would of been this big, this is my frist time getting it and using it. I really cant believe that the pot is so CHEAP for the said durability of it. What do most people get 4-5 months? Just to make sure 20 min cure time then buff off, then you can re-apply 2ed coat right after or do I have to wait the 12-24 hrs as normal?

I would of rather gotten the FK1 pot as it would look better but oh well...as long as the product last as I am using it as a base because I will be topping with a nuba I will be happy.
