Finally tried Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal today..

Z8 is my favorite Zaino product as well. I love it and use it over all sealants with great success. I never thought of using it over a carnauba though....

No dust issues for me. I use mostly Cobra and Pakshak super plush towels.

I don't know if Z-8 is my favorite, but I have do agree that it's one of the slickest Zaino products.

I use Z-8 straight-up with no streaking, and my car is pretty much dust free.

What color is your car?

I stopped using Z8 because I found that it attracts dust like crazy. Anyone else experience this?

FWIW, instead of Z8, I have been using DG Aquawax. I think it looks just as good if not better at a fraction of the cost:secret

I have experienced this !!!!!.....

I use Z8 and have no intent to stop using it.

But..... I,ve applied it just before going to a car show one time and mine was the only one in the row that had lots of dust on it. Don't know what they used but I know what I used and it wasn't pretty. Maybe not cured yet ????? Don't know ... but I've learned to put it on the nite before.....Helps the problem alittle I think.

I was just about to ask that question, thanks for answering it for me Scott! I personally always like to do a final wipe-down after waxing with AW.

Actually, that was the reason I wasn't really blown away by AW at first. Not that it looks bad, but it has the 'sealant' look of Z8 and I was expecting a more carnauba look.

Sal does recommend 1 MF in which he has quality tested - DF Towels.

Unlike members here that realize there is a wide-range of MF quality, a non-detailing forum purchaser of MF's may not be so informed.

Honestly, I'd put those orange Vroom towels (from Target) up against any boutique MF towel on the market. They work great with Z8.

I definitely prefer the look of z8 to aw, and smell. aw is great but I even put it on the backburner compared to scg speed demon.

I think the gray Target MF's are better. I also think you have to step back from a Z8'd vehicle to really see the glow.

Interesting response.

I purposely stated "low quality MF's" and not "low cost" or "OTC MF's" because the quality of the MF is not price or location where purchased dependent. :wall

I purchase my supply from internet vendors (i.e Pakshak, ExcelDetail, DF Towels, etc) with proven track records for the convenience, service and assured quality.:xyxthumbs

Chalk up another vote for Vroom MF's at Target, they're soft, inexpensive and there's a Target every 10 miles where I live. I have some other "boutique" ones that AG sticks in sometimes when you order - that's the only reason I have them - and there's nothing special about them.

Interesting. Side by side, alternating panels (alternated every panel on the whole car) on a BMW, neither I nor my customer could see any difference. Even after 3 weeks, the whole car looked and felt the same.

Just making the point that you don't have to spend a lot to get good towels.

Yet you only buy from internet vendors? Seriously, give the Vroom towels a shot. You might be pleasantly suprised.

What was is sitting on top of? And the only real reason I sub aw for scg is smell and monotony. It's a similar product obviously, and you should get six weeks out of either, I just like different products sometimes, so I'm not saying it's a better product imo.

I havent found the quality to be good enough to use on paint, no way. I would say they are on par with the Sams/Costco MF's. The quality is all over, each pack seems to be different, even towels within a pack vary. However, the gray VROOM are pretty nice.

Yes, you can use Z-8 over carnauba. I use it over Souveran

x2. I use it over Souveran as well (on black paint). It seems to combine the depth of Souveran with just enough reflective shine.

The resulting glow is dramatic
