Ferrari's F430 Spider and 575M

Great work Chris. Your work and your pictures look awesome!

You sure have stepped up your clientele now. I need to get one or two good referrals so I can keep as busy as you are now.

I have done 4 Ferrari's, one including a single stage. Ferrari paint is the sofest paint I have ever touched. You would think its easier to correct softer paint, but infact its easier to get deeper than average swirls since its so soft making it more effort to remove the defects. Also the paint is a flat non-metallic. I have found the metallic flakes in paint somewhat "distort" swirls to where you cant see them as bad, on flat colors of any type swirls are very obvious under bright lights. SUPER Soft paint without metallic = PITA lol

I know what your saying about how metallic distracts the eye from the swirls. But as far as soft paint goes don't you find you need a finishing pad for final polishing? I find the polishing pad a little to aggressive for final finishing on soft paint and will leave very very light marring only detectable upon close inspection with very bright lights or the sun. But hey if you're able to get a perfect finish without that step then thats great, and it will also save you some time as well.

My new clients are great people. Even though they have a lot more money then most, they are still very kind and very appreciative. Referals after referals = more work! :)

Which polishing pads are you using? Im using 6.5 inch LC white pads. I got lots of mircomarring from IP and white polish pad but I have never had to use anything lighter then FPII and polishing pad. I dont even get the slightest haze or micro marring. How long are you working the polish? I work my polishes down quite a bit. I know on a PC a white polish pad and FPII *may* leave micro marring on very soft paint.

On average, I take about 10 minutes per panel to break down polish. With about 13 panels on a car it takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to do one step polish for an entire vehicle. Sometimes less. I may take a lot of time in my polishing steps but I find the results are worth it.

This pic is after FPII with the polishing pad. And trust me my face is inches away from the paint when I look for any micro marring at different angles.

First of all that last pic looks totally liquid :D . I've been using the 7.5" LC curved edge pads. I just got a 4 3/4" plate for the rotary so now I can use my PC pads (LC 6" white & yellow, 6.5 orange and propell 7" green) on the rotary. I tried them out yesterday and find them easier to use over the 7.5" curved edge. The green propell and 6" LC white did seem to leave a very nice finish, but I will have to try them on black paint to be sure. I agree, I also find you have to work the polish down to get a nice finish. Time wise I'm about the same. I hope with using my PC pads I can also not have to use a finishing pad all the time as well, we will see.

Its been a blast working on these vehicles. The great thing about them is that they are usually in VERY GOOD condition to being with. It allows you to get more time in trying to get the car closer to 100% perfection in terms of EVERYTHING on and in the car. I think I still have a testarossa coming very soon and a few others!

Ultimate detail dream car would to be getting a hold of a Ferrari Enzo!!!! That car would take me 3 days since I would continually wiping my drool off it every 5 seconds! lol

Those cars look amazing... I have one question. What does this guy do that he can afford to have TWO Ferraris???

I want to do whatever that is... unless it involves some kind of illegal trafficing.
