Favorite Polishes For PC

That is odd. What pads are you using and what speed on the PC?

Propel green pad and usually between Speed 4-5 on the PC. I did bump it up to 6 but I usually notice a lack of effectiveness at that speed.

I have had success using the Finish Kare line of polishes with a PC.

Never had luck using Opt. Polish with the pc. With the rotary, it performed very well for me.

Must have been operator issue because a lot of folks swear that Opt. Polish and pc work for them.

OP is very pad dependant. It's one of a number of newgen polishes that require an aggressive pad and gives you long work time. I believe OP is not that aggressive, but a green pad is too mild. Try it with an orange pad. It has the long work-time and buffering that can support more abrasive pads. Mothers PowerPolish is the same. OP and green pad is for finishing, not correcting.

I picked up 3 bottles of MPP for $4.00 a bottle at Advance Auto. I look forward to trying it this spring.

The sonus line is pretty good but it does dust a bit and it is missing anything with significant abrasion (even sfx-1 is pretty mild).

Other than the ZPC, you pretty much nailed it for me. FPII is awesome, and SSR 2.5 can tackle some heavy swirls.

Chalk my vote up to ZPC for all around flexibility and then to Menzerna IP and FP after that. For bad stuff, I like the wide range of stuff you can do with poorboy's SSR 2.5.

...I've used Optimum polish and be WAY less than impressed. It cut less than SSR1....

Just listen to Paul. And even more importantly: remember, overapplication of any Optimum polish causes poor performance. The less you use the more effective they will be. An oversturated pad just skates over its own lubricants and unable to work effectively. The powder has to reach the surface and it means very little product.

Thanks for the advice. I will try an orange pad. However I won't have much data until Spring time. So another month or two depending on Mother Nature.
