Well we're going to the dealer to see what she's worth, so I put her back to visually stock. Stock pulley, exhaust ect. And that gawd awful engine cover. :(

Anyways here are the clean up pictures.

Buick_guy1, nice work once again.

I have the same supercharged motor in my Holden here in OZ. Did the different blower pulley make any improvement?

OMG . . . Iâ€â„¢m so naïve. I never thought that anyone would modify a Buick. LOL! I suppose Iâ€â„¢m living on the dark side of the moon. What did you use? Very nice detail â€â€œ looks like new :xyxthumbs

It took about 20 minutes to do. So I just ran the car for 'bout 10 minutes while I was vacuuming the interior, then I turned off the car, and covered the alternator with a plastic bag.

I sprayed some rim cleaner on some parts, which I shouldn't have done, let a few eching marks on the fuel rails, so I just switched over to a strong degreaser. Turned the car back on for about 5 minutes, then shut it off and blasted it with some high pressure water.

Next came dressing everything inside the bay. Used some cheap Armor All for houses and such. I liberally sprayed down the whole engine bay, including the paint (inside the bay) and then let it site for anouther 20 minutes while I was extracting the carpet.

Opened up the hood again after letting it bake in the sun, and wiped down the surfaces with a clean sponge.

Worked great, but there is some weird calcium deposit all over the hood thingy. I'm thinking of taking it out to hear the supercharger more

I'm also curious to see what you used. What are you getting?

Nope, just seeing what she's worth for curiousities sake. Will probably get rid of it soon though, before its worth nothing. My dad's looking at a new 5 series.

You did an awesome job. So you just sprayed degreaser then hosed it down?

It looks awesome!

I'm going to try some Poorboys Bold 'n' Bright on some of my engine bay plastics. Should be interesting. Maybe I'll just use something I can spray easier, like you did with armor all...

So the engine was at full temp when you ran the hose on it? I always thought this was bad, since it could potentially crack the block. Of course I've never heard of it actually happening, I'm weary enough that I wouldn't do it.

Nah, the engine had a cool down period. Mind you I was using hot water, not straight cold. We have a seperate water heater for the hoses.

I've been hearing that BMW's spend a lot of time in the shop because of electrical problems. Your dad might want to look at the new Acura RL or the new Lexus GS. Also, IMHO the Acura and Lexus look better than the BMW. Anyone agree or disagree.

Yeah, BMW's been having a few problems with the newer cars. IMO, Bangle screwed up a great looking car. E39> E60.

Also, no one likes iDrive. Pick up any magazine that reviews any car using iDrive, and they'll tell you what a PITA it is I believe my more recent issue of road and track said that it took 3 different button pushes just to get to the screen to change the radio or something similar.

Like ^ he said, I'd look at something different. New GS, RL, M45, etc...

Are you taking all of the mods off the Buick? What are the plans for all of the aftermarket parts?

I personally like the styling, and I actually don't mind the iDrive. I'd used it before in a few friend's cars, and its easy to use once you get used to it.

The GS will probably end up staying, she's only worth about 15 grand CAN. Oh well, maybe I'll buy it from the folks and store it for a out of Med School car. :)

Eh, different strokes for different folks. I hope you guys can find something you like, or are able to keep the ol' Buick.
