This is my personal baby. It's also my autocross/track-day car, and my daily driver. So, as you can imagine, it doesn't stay looking good for long. Anyways, I finally got sick and tired of looking at the front end of my car and thinking "wow, when did my Z get in a knife and shotgun fight?? Looks like it lost too..."
So, before my next major detail on it, I've began working on the paint chips and scratches. After reading several good reviews of the Dr. Colorchip system, I figured I'd give it a shot. They had my paint code on their site already, and I got my kit in 4 days. I was pretty amazed at that, considering I only paid for standard ground shipping.
Here are quick before and after shots of just one coat applied today. From anything more than a foot away looking straight down at the hood, you cannot see ANYTHING except the one huge chip in the fender as seen in the last pic. The major chips aren't level after one coat, but I'm confident I'll be able to make them look even better with a few more coats, letting them dry a day in between.
Needless to say, I'm very impressed with the product. The paint matches very well, and I had the hang of the process in about two minutes. I bought the big kit, and it'll probably last me the life of the car. No photoshopping in these pics besides bringing out the shadows so you can better see the defects because of the cloudy weather.
