Wow, 9 pages and you guys still keep on arguing about this. What was the original post again?
How many people here actually work in a body shop? If they are not on this thread, everything is a speculation.
Somebody made a good point pointing out that the regular person maybe waxes their car 1-3 times a year,so the silicone thing is not an issue for them, and I bet you the same person wouldn't be able to see fish eyes, orange peel, etc, unless an autopian (somebody who knew) pointed it out.
As for silicones being in the product, we do not know unless somebody gets the composition of the product. I do not think that there is anybody regulating these statements or testing them scientifically for actual truth in advertising.
Most of the products are judged on feel (ex. slickness), look (glossy, warm) and beading. These things are not scientific and are subjective. If you go on Zaino's webpage, he even says that clean paint will bead like waxed paint.
Man, I could go on forever, but I think this is enough.
