Did you guys see Autopia was sold?

At least they are allowed to ban now. Back in the day everything had to go through committee and it was ultimately determined by whether or not the user was a customer at David's store. That was one of the things I fought with David about and is one of the factors to my not leaving the moderator staff six years ago. That was before Pat's time, so he can't really comment on that, but I'm sure he will since his intentions here are now clearly known.
 
Nope, no more drama from me. I just didn't expect Pat300zx to say something like that, so I probably popped off more than I should. Nothing like a low blow as your first response when someone gives an unfavorable review of your favorite site, but I guess that is how some people roll. I'm just going to stay out of this thread now because I'm definitely not going to have anything constructive to say after that.

Isn’t that what this thread is about after all? The contentious spirit here is so thick you can cut it with a conspirers’ knife. Sounds to me like a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. If this place is so fair & balanced, why does it allow such an arrogant thread to be created in the 1st place?

David F. I'm not certain if you meant to imply that a contentious spirit exists here at DC. If you do, I think you are sadly mistaken. Are there (have there been) contentious discussions and posts by members? Maybe so, but it certainly isn't indicative of an overall "spirit" within the forum.

As far as statement that DC being a step-child of Autopia...let me direct you back to another of your statements...something about pots and kettles. Poor form.

Edit to change: step child of Autopia to correctly read step-child of AutoGeek to match the poster's statement.

You came here with an agenda and I've asked this once already of you, what's you beef. Just like any forum that you can post on. If you don't like what happens here then you don't have to post or view.

My guess is you have a hair up your tail end about this site and seem to feel that Autopia is a better site or you enjoy it more than here.

Eric (blk45) was a bit childish if you ask me. I explained myself very well about my reasons for not wanting Todd posting over here. I am getting pretty tired of defending actions like that. He has no business here. His business is on his forum promoting for the people he works for. You don't see me or Steve or any of the guys from Autogeek trying to post over there.

I was very nice about it. Anybody with any common sense could understand why I did that. I am pretty dissapointed in Eric for just leaving without even so much as a goodbye. I did nothing to him nor did I do anything that warranted it, so the problem is his.

I don't understand why we have to create such drama over stuff like this. Todd is a business man. As far as I know he understood why I did what I did. There really is no reason for people to cry foul or start getting upset because a forum leader makes a decision they don't like.

I'm also getting sick of this garbage too. I try very hard to keep this place unbiased. I've defended this point with tons of threads as proof for that one too.

David, is the only reason you are here to cause trouble? Because if that's the case I would have to ban you and I'm sure you would get a kick out of that one wouldn't you?

I can count the number of people I have banned since I started here on one hand. Does that really sound like someone who wants to censor people and create a biased atmosphere?

I have to say that I was the one that started thread here about Todd taking what seemed like an absorbent amount of time to clean a fairly new BMW..All that said after reading Davids link that's the hair he has up his butt, is just my guess.

Sorry for what this is all about but this site IMO is heads over many on the net:D

Haha... when I saw who was browsing/viewing this thread yesterday evening I expected to see a post almost exactly like that. Glad I wasn't disappointed.

Actually you seem to be the one that seems to be doing pretty well at taking shots at Autopia. As you stated in your previous posts you have not been a moderator there in the past 6 years and have not visited the site for since 2008. Therefore for you to have an understanding of what happens on that forum daily since you left would be pretty vague.

I find people's reactions to the sale of Autopia pretty humorous. Considering it was sold back in May and no one ever knew about it until today the changes on the forum have been pretty insignificant. If nobody said anything then nobody would have know and things would have gone on as they have.

I think you will find via my post history on DC that the last thing I do is lurk on this forum and take shots at it's members. However, your loss of respect for me means nothing to me.
